Nintendo Wii: Wii Successor To Have HD Touch Screen Control Pad According To Sources

Following yesterdays spectacular revelation that Nintendo are set to début a brand new console at E3 more news has leaked regarding the consoles controller.

According to a source at online gaming publication CVG the new systems controller will be a unique HD touch screen. Clearly if this is the case then there’s so many possibilities that it makes my mind boggle at the very thought of it. What do you think?

“Nintendo’s plans sound unreal,” one source said. “Publishers are already planning launch titles and it’s all very exciting.  The hardware is even more powerful than current HD consoles and backwards compatible with Wii. The controller will be all-new and has a HD screen on it.”

  1. Well, let’s be honest. Since the Wii and DS Nintendo is the most innovating developer we know.

Kinect was cool, but was only developed as a response to the increasing popularity of the Wii and motion controls. The PS move though was really just rip off when it came to motion controls.

  2. Well, it sounds cool, but I’d be surprised if that was it. You can’t really play a game with a touchscreen without constantly looking at said touchscreen – on a home console, you want to be able to watch the TV at all times and instinctively find the buttons in your hands.

  3. I am a fan of nintendo since forever i owned all the consoles (home and portable).
Ibelieve nintendo are gonna make cry microsoft and sony once again but also I critic nintendo for one thing and is to make an HD console so late. Now i’m gonna wait and see for myself in E3.

  4. When I read news about this new Nintendo console it sounds like the sources come back with fantastical tales…like if someone said “There was a white tiger with wings and it spat fire and had laser eyes! Then it flew into the sky! I can’t wait for space flying tiger to return!”

Seriously can’t wait for E3. Nintendo will burn and pillage the competition again, tell you what.

  6. well, it won’t be official till we hear from the Big N, anything we hear between now and E3 that doesn’t come straight from the Big N is probably false till the Big N says otherwise, but this would be awesome if confirmed by them

  7. Ah, the days when people were actually excited about the Wii U.

Perhaps we’ll get there again. In the meantime, I’ll be playing awesome games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. For Wii U (and 3DS).

  8. I bought a Wii u on launch date and I love it. I don’t know why people hate on it so much :'(
