Serebii are reporting that Junichi Masuda, head of the main Pokémon studio Game Freak, will appear on the Japanese TV show Pokémon Smash on Sunday 18th September to reveal a new Pokemon game. Things are definitely getting interesting with Nintendo’s 3DS press conference on Tuesday and the Tokyo Game Show on Thursday. Any guesses as to what the Pokemon game will be?

I think it’s a little too soon for it to be Grey, considering it’s only been one year since B/W came out. Personally, I think it will be another game like Battle Revolution or something similar, especially since they already have all of the models made for the new Pokemon.

YAY!! really hope its a pokemon ruby/saphire remake, as long as its like emerald (which it will, much like hg/ss were more like crystal). i wouldnt imagine a pokemon “grey” since they would have to remake the region of black and white for the 3ds, or make it for ds (which i really hope not, i want that 3D!!!!). if its a brand new pokemon game with new pokemon that would blow me away, since a new generation just started not even a year ago. all in all im very excited for this announcment and cant wait until tuesday. imagine a brand new pokemon game, and within that region, there is a park where you can play a pokemon snap minigame that was just like the original but brand new? you could move your 3ds around like you are taking the picture. that would be a great way for gamefreak to utilize the 3ds’ other functions

If it’s a main Pokemon games, then I bet it’ll be for both the DS and 3DS. They would not abandon all those DS gamers out there just like that, but the 3DS version would look better and would have more features, including streetpass/spotpass evens, maybe new/exclusive areas, etc. If there’s one game that sells systems, then it’s Pokemon.

I think it will be a 3ds game that uses those 3d cards. when you battle you use the cards as pokeballs and you can train in 3d watch your pokemon grow. i’ve been thinking about this ever since the first pokemon game came out

Hopefully AquaSapphire and MagmaRuby, as many have stated. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they released info on Grey, seeing as Black and White got announced less than a year after HeartGold and SoulSilver were released =/ But you never know.
The Pinball, Ranger, Mystery Dungeon, Snap, Stadium, Colosseum/XD:GoD…Trozei (lol) etc. etc Franchises are were and are NOT made my Game Freak, so I doubt he’ll be making an announcement about any games of those sorts. Only the Color/Jewel themed handheld series was developed by Game Freak.
