Nintendo 3DS: You’ll Need To Use A Wrist Strap With Your Extra Nintendo 3DS Circle Pad

OK, so you won’t need a wrist strap but Nintendo’s second Circle Pad peripheral comes with one. Whether or not anyone will use it remains to be seen, but it’s certainly an interesting decision by Nintendo to include one.

“Attach the wrist strap to the 3DS and wear it when using this accessory.”

          1. You must not be a very refined hunter because I never use the strap when playing that game and I’ve never thrown it against a wall. But actually I’ve taken off the wrist strap from my wii-mote to use with my 3DS because I don’t want to drop it. (I don’t wear it on my hand I tie it on my belt loop.)

      1. i have little kids around and sometimes i get bumped and jumped, and if not for wrist strap, there would have been some terrible accidents, then some missing kids on the news.

        1. I’ve dropped my 3DS 3 times alredy but it was never damaged :) A wrist band will help me never drop my 3DS unless the band breaks

    1. Either because it means they can sell it as an add-on and make more money, or because they thought they didn’t need two circle pads, but other developers asked for them afterwards so they made this.

      1. I like to think someone thought of it but was voted down. “I think…we need another analog pad. You know for like camera movement or option for the ABXY buttons.”

“Heh…you’re silly. Now go back to designing stickers and stuff for Club Nintendo, now. Those stickers and keychains aren’t going to make themselves. Leave the ideas to the big boys…we got this.”

“Okay…but think about idea about the price. I got a bad feeling about it.”

        “Run along now.”

…that’s exactly how it went. Sticker-Keychain guy has all the ideas. I think his name is Yuji or something.

  2. If you ask me all Nintendo needs to do is make a better batteryfor the 3DS and sell it and that will knock a revised 3DS for about 5 years.

  3. Seriously, this thing is getting absolutely scrutinized all over the Internet, and unfortunately the 3DS is somewhat of a laughing stock. I love the 3DS, but I think people should know. On the other hand, it’s probably just a bunch of Sony fanboys, LOL

  4. some people see this as *wooo whoo, free wrist strap* i see this as, *this peripheral isnt sturdy enough so we are giving you a strap just incase, just in case you know*

  5. i think they put that there as a saftey measure if some games use the pad and gyroscope features, like the wii mote uses a strap

    1. i hope not, but im fine with it cause i have black but with all the new colors they’re making they probably too color as a concern

  8. I never really used a wrist strap for anything except WarioWare Wii and Wii sports. So unless they make a good game that requires a lot of movement, I probably won’t use it.

  9. Nintendo has been getting some bad press recently about this whole new circle pad (topped with the 3DS price drop, poor sales, no good games, and anything else I’m forgetting). That bring said, I still think Nintendo is going to pull through here.
I do, however, think this circle pad add on is silly, and should have just been included from the get go. And secondly, if this is something that all 3DS games will incorporate in the future (a possibility), then current 3DS owners shouldn’t have to purchase one. It should be supplied free of charge, similar to how the Wii released remote covers for free.
    I don’t know, that’s just what I think…

    1. And then what if, like me, you already have two on it? The left and right corners… For no main reason than to identify the console as “mine”(and I think it looks funky). Then you’ll have three! One for each wrist and an extra one…
