Nintendo of Japan has posted a developer roundtable for the highly anticipated Animal Crossing 3D for the Nintendo 3DS. During the roundtable the developers behind the Animal Crossing franchise discuss the features that the Animal Crossing community wish to see in the new game. What would you personally like to see featured in the 3DS game?
cool

A real good online system…
Cant wait for the game!
The character not being.the stupidly tall thing they showed in the E3 trailer. Keeping him/her the same height as the other games, also the ability ro have more than 1 town.
Well, the reason for the character being so tall probably is the bigger variety of clothes you can wear then, I guess.
Like, I’m guessing that you can combine different pants with different shirts.. That’s what it looked like to me in the trailers, at least.
I also liked the look of the character in the previous versions better, but being able to combine different clothes sounds nice too.
I’ve never played Animal Crossin’ before but I hear it’s similar to Harvest Moon, a simulation role playin’ game. May pick it up, hopefully it’s good idk.
Well, i have some ideas for new features.
1. Improve the Online play.
Try to make a continental person finder or something, because not everyone of your friends has Animal Crossing, so don’t have friend codes.
2. Camera Rotation
In all animal crossing series, there is no camera rotation, its just looking forward.
3 More Towns.
It is a lot funnier to have more towns, like animal crossing CF, but then have more towned like the city only!
Do it Nintendo!

Actually in wild world you can change the camera angle but think inside the house only, also on the wii let’s go to the city you can as well.
More towns yes please!
Indeed!
online voice chat
true!
Better online play, easier interface for pattern making
More then 4 people a town
I personally would like a sort of central hub, like the City in CF where you can meet real people. But make it a but bigger with better options for playing with friends.
Also more Animal Neighbors per town and a higher limit of multiplayer friends. And as someone said before moving the camera would be nice. I also think that there should be minigames added for certain furniture like a pool table. Let it actually let you play pool against a friend. Or a pinball machine and stuff like that.
And one more wish list would be more unique items and different house sets. I like the modern set and such but I REALLY woul like an all new furniture line. Maybe keep some old but throw in a bunch of new ones.
Wait for the wii u
It’s Animal Crossing, so it’s a first-day buy for me.
Also: what’s with the dude with the same gravatar posting comments over and over again under different aliases?
Bring back neighbor pictures! Collecting them really gave me a purpose in interacting with the animals in the ds version which I was missing in the wii.
My god. I thought I wasnt gonna get any news on ac till next year. Keep the ac news flowing.
KK slider!!
that is all
Whats so fun about animal crossing? to me it’s boring all you do is just walk and fish and stuff.
Most people just like life simulation games.
Those are my favorite parts :)
what are u wearing in your picture?
Already saw that on Nintendo Channel.
I wish that the game would just come out!
Ditto

Excuse me? That is incorrect. You may call me gay or homosexal. I’ve been with my partner for over 2 years now and I am very proud to have you know. Punk Nerds such as yourself should think more often and share their ignorant comments less.
For me, the big issue was the friend codes. I get that you want to keep it safe, don’t let creepy people into your town and all, but I seriously thought that it was really restricted! It would be cool to see you use the system you have in Mario Kart online, were you can search for ‘Worldwide’ or ‘Continental’…then further breaking them down into lobbies! I really really really enjoyed Animal Crossing on the DS and this one is looking pretty good! :)
Friend codes has more to do with the “family” aspect of nintedo. it’s a great idea executed in the wrong way. It would be nice if you could have an “invitation” system in the game. You get a town invite in the mail from someone (say through the message boards on the offical site.) then you take that to the train station and get it stamped to arrive into the town. I think that would be great, make the game have a more realistic flare to it and would allow you to get around the friend code aspect of the game.
the ability to assassinate Mr. Resetti.
The ability to assassinate Mr. Resetti is insignificant to the power of his bill.
i dont know anything about this game.,just a litlle bit.
i played the ds version of it and i loved it! i recommend u play the 3ds version buddy.
interesting.
Improved WiFi play! Maybe a city hub like someone else mentioned where you can meet other players online, and if you end up getting along you can then friend them (no awkward friend codes please) and have them visit your town. Maybe even have a mode to where you can allow random people into your town, but what they can do there is limited (no ripping up your flowers, cutting down your trees, etc).
Bring back the island, but don’t have it be something that you need a separate accessory for. Maybe you only get it once you achieve a particular goal (something not insanely unrealistic though).
I really miss having the NES games like the GCN version had. :(
Unfortunately how the system is set up friend codes are a must have evil. It has to do with the family aspect of the nintendo image. It’s supposed to be safer than just meeting some random person on the internet who could be dangerous. Unfortunately i think they’ve done it the wrong way in making it so every game requires a itself rather than just the unit.
I’d like to see a furniture building feature where you could use patters you design on chairs, couches, tables m chairs, beds, and other items. This way you could make custom furniture and sell it online. A different way to earn bells.
Be cool to have your own art gallery too, where you could take 3D pictures of your friends and hang them up for all your friends to see. Even use the pictures on statues and such.
How about a gardening feature in the game where you could try to grow different kinds of flowers and trees. Be something you and your friends can do together.
Besides the aquarium at the museum it’d be nice to have a way to raise fish, frogs, and turtles in your home. I’d love to show off rare finds with out them acting like furniture. maybe be able to feed them and watch them grow or something.
It’d be nice for you to be able to throw a birthday party for your friends, or even make your own holiday. Something like yardsale day or something. When people go out side and well all there stuff they dont need.
How about having tv’s in the game show shows that you and you’re friends have made? it’d be cool to have your friends star in mini tv shows that you could then upload through some kind of animal crossing network and share with friends and family. You could watch them by clicking on a tv and scrolling through channels. maybe have different ones play at different times durning the day.
There are giant problems with every one of those ideas.
Online marketplaces wouldn’t work well, what’s to stop anyone from copying your design without buying your furniture?
Having an art gallery to post online would cause legal issues. Anyone could post inappropriate pictures. If they wanted to avoid that and keep the art gallery, they would have to keep the online system extremely strict. Also, for statues, you might be taking 3D pictures, but it’s only simulated 3D. Your camera doesn’t know what’s on the other side of the statue, and it can’t differentiate between objects or levels of depth, just look at how Face Raiders deals with faces, it’s a mess.
You can already breed different types of flowers, and there are already three types of trees.
If you want a game where you raise fish, you should probably look for a different game, because a fish-raising simulator would take up a lot of space in the cartridge.
If you want to make your own holiday with your friends, then do it. If you want to program your own holiday into the game where your neighbors participate, well, tough luck. Even if they had some type of holiday creator, you wouldn’t be able to go much further than having neighbors mention it in conversation. As per your yard sale idea, there is already the flea market where you can visit your neighbors and buy their furniture, or stay home and sell your own to your visiting neighbors.
TV’s showing videos that you made is the same issue with the art gallery.
You don’t seem to understand the reality behind creating video games. It’s harder than you think.
I’d love to get some kind of “lobby” where you can go to when having internet connection. And there, you can meet people from all over the world to chat with them or exchange friend codes or something like that. There should be mutliple rooms of course, so it doesn’t get too crowded or laggy.
And maybe some kind of character-info-feature, so you can see the bugs/fish a person you meet in that lobby has caught… Maybe that lobby could look something like a town (like in City Folk/Let’s go to the city) or like some kind of park/garden.. I’d love to see something like that (:
Oh my! SO ADEQUATE! I can’t wait!
My only wish would be a voice chat feature! But they have done/improved this godlike game SO much already! I’m so excited maaaaan
Always gonna play it with my friends
There is no such thing as being too old for Animal Crossing.
I like to see animal crossing with gun’s take people cars punch the animals to death teabag the animals have sex make a baby set other people towns on fire and sleep with there wife that will be awesome :3 rated R for retarded
yeah, that would be retarded!
No animal crossing will ever be better than gamecube version. UNLESS the new one has a bunch of snes games to unlock then i will buy this game.
Dont forget nintendo will be adding DLC soon. As rumored anyway.
Some of you are forgetting that the friend codes still exist, just not on a game specific basis. You have ONE friend code for your system.
I just hope that there’s some form of speech use in the game like with the WiiSpeak. I don’t like typing especially when it’s so limited. They should bundle it with a headset type thing. I’m not sure where it’d plug in, but I’m sure they can find a way to do it. Maybe plugging it in to the power source? Or just the headphone jack. Either way, all copies should be bundled with it if they make something like that so nobody has to pay $10 or $20 more for the peripheral.
Personally, I don’t care about more visiting people, 4 is usually plenty for me, especially when talking over WiiSpeak. I’d like to see some more activities that multiple players can do. Like Hide-And-Seek with the villagers! They should let us do that on WiFi!
Another feature would be the animal pictures. I never actually got any legit, I got a few through Action Replay after I got bored with the game, but I never really earned them. It’d be fun to get something for being BFF’s with a villager. And with the option to hang stuff on the wall, it’d be easier to keep them in your house.
The only other thing I’m hoping for is a shop in the town. If Tom Nook is working as a real estate agent, then who’s running a local store? It’ll be such a pain if I have to go to the shopping mall each time I want to sell stuff. So here’s hoping that there’s still a store and the Able Sisters! It’s all sounding great so far, but don’t screw up those two major features!
online?
Finally, the boys get to wear dresses! :D <3
Tarantulas and scorpions in online multiplayer. That’s ALL I want.
Get rid of that ridiculous grass feature.
I swear the devs were complete idiots about that ish. “LOLOLOL LET’S MAKE THE GRASS DIE IT’S NOT LIKE PLAYERS WANT FREEDOM AND THE TOWN WILL LOOK LIKE A DESERT LOLOL DERRR.”
ikr!
I want to be able to choose to do random errands for the villagers like in the GameCube one. I also want Kenta Nagata to compose the hourly field BGM. Like in the GameCube one. Then NES games, like the Gamecube one.
…Haha, nostalgia’s made me turn into an old man ranting about the good old days XD
