Grab Metroid And A Crush 3D Demo Off The Nintendo eShop This Week

Nintendo of America has revealed the treats it has in-store for North American Nintendo 3DS owners. You’ll be able to grab the original Metroid from the Nintendo Entertainment System as well as a playable demo for Sega’s Crush 3D. As I mentioned earlier, European Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to get their hands on Punch-Out!! and Super Mario Bros. There will also be a playable European demo for Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

    1. I don’t think that’s new. It’s already listed on Wikipedia as coming to Wii U, along with Xbox 360, and the rest of the platforms. Thanks for sharing.

      1. Not exactly, I hear that multiplayer works on SMB.

        Changes:
        Icon on home screen
        Sound when selecting icon
        added manual option
        added save states

SMB only: addition of Multiplayer – Luigi can now move when 2P is selected. So it’s not the same, it’s mostly the same. I wasn’t expecting anything different.

    1. I kinda wish they had used that cool icon of the NES and the TV like as a promotional graphic on the eShop or something instead of just reusing it for the Metroid Update. I thought it would really cool if they took the art that was on the boxes/cartridges of those old school games and rendered them in 3D and made those the preview you see when you select a game instead.

  1. I recently tried to play the originsl metroid again and it was hard. I forgot most of what I had to do. It was still awesome though.
