A rumour has surfaced online that acclaimed development studio Retro Studios is creating game engines for Wii U and then helping other developers implement them. The rumour then goes on to suggest that Retro Studios showed the game engine to Epic Games and got them to reconsider bringing Unreal Engine 4 to the system. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out exactly what Retro Studios have been doing since Donkey Kong Country Returns and Mario Kart 7.

(just for your info: xplay and gamesradar both gave it a 4 out of 5.. it may have been retros weakest game so far but is by no standards a bad game)
if you want to tell them they suck you’d have to go through the publisher like with most other developers aswell… game developers usually don’t do customer service (though if you tell the publisher like you told me, with all these compelling arguments, your email is most likely going to end up in the trash)
This day and age there is no excuse for poor controls. Controls of a game are the most important elements of making a game. They can’t even master that? I don’t know how x-play game them a good review because of the bad controls.

when has retro ever worked on a console powerful enough to need engines on par with those. Judging the IDEA of them developing their own engine and comparing it to next gen engines is downright idiotic because your judgement is based on their work on much lesser hardware. They have never had the need for such robust engines in the past.
Given their involvement with Nintendo. They are likely to come up with an engine that leverages the system very well. If this rumor is to be believed. Not only would we expect a great engine, but one specific to the wiiu; not some multiplatform engine. Meaning developers may possibly get more out of them than if they used some multiplatform one like UE3 or what have you.
