Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow Producer Would Love To Work On A Zelda Game

Castlevania_the_legend_of_Zelda_cover_artHead of U.K. studio at Konami Digital Entertainment and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series producer David Cox says he would love to work on a The Legend of Zelda game. Cox told n1ntendo that, if he was given the opportunity, he’d make a Zelda game that’s more like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, rather than like any other installment in the series, as he says he really enjoys the Nintendo 64 classic. Would you like to play a Zelda game developed by Cox and his team?

“That’s a question, haha. I’m a massive fan of Zelda, so would I like to work on a Zelda-game…I’d love to work on a Zelda-game, that’d be amazing. How would I change it? I don’t really know. I mean, I think I would make it more like Ocarina of Time, because that’s the kind of Zelda-game I really, really like. You know, the wonder of exploring that whole world that felt like a cohesive whole…it all felt like it belonged together. So I think that would be something I’d love to do. That’s quite a difficult question to answer, but if Iwata-san is listening: I’d love to work on Zelda.”

  1. Welll, Castlevania lord of shadows is a great game, with lots of graphics. that’s how new zelda need to be, with a zeldad like that(OOT kind) wiiU wiill be a must have.

  2. Let Nintendo work on Zelda and Zelda only. Let whatever they are work on Castlevania and Castlevania only. Stay out. Sony sucks. Microsoft is just a pile of crap. Nintendo needs to stop talking and making promises and start doing. Ive had my Wii U since launch and ive already played every damn game. So just announce anything good please
Who wants my ps3? ill sell it for 100 bucks

    1. Capcom say Hi on
      3 Handheld Zelda games

      It is possible
as long as Miyamoto and the other director dude is involve nothing goes wrong.

  3. I don’t trust anyone but Nintendo making a Zelda game…except for maybe Retro Studios who gave me the best trilogy I have played.

  4. If hed do it in colaboration with nintendo so he switch it up too much im all for it. Ocarina of Time is by far the best game in the series. Id love it if the next game in the series has the “dark” feeling to it like Twilight Princess has. Just spare us from the cartoonish childish graphics in Skyward Sword. We already have the wind waker remake coming up, lets make one for the adults.

Aside from graphics, an Ocarina of Time alike game would mean lots of side quests thats totally worth it. Nintendo, put this guy in your dev team please :)

I really liked Skyward Sword’s graphics, but now I wholeheartedly agree with realistic graphics.

It’s not that Skyward Sword’s or Wind Waker’s graphics were BAD, but we’ve seen them in two console games (two handheld games, too) and now it’s time for Nintendo to show off the Wii U’s capability by going all-out on their best franchise.

The Zelda demo at E3 looked weird. It was a demo after all. But imagine a Zelda similar to Twilight Princess but with the scope of Xenoblade in HD?

Also, I know SS and WW’s graphics aren’t the same. But they are lighter and brighter and more fun than OoT, MM, and TP.

  5. I think every developer wants to make a Zelda game, it’s like the golden prize xD

It would be nice for other devs to make them, have new ideas with every developer, making each one unique, i think that would be awesome.

Just keep some “Zelda staff” to nake sure it still works xD

  7. I’m glad he would love to and loves Zelda and woupd take it back to Ocarina times but no offence but no just no. Unless he got 1on1 time with Miyamoto or Eiji to learn the way they think when making Zelda I must say STAY AWAY FROM ZELDA. lol

  8. That same Konami which is saying that Castlevania: Lord of Shadows 2 won’t be coming to the Wii U because it’s a difficult consoles to program for? NO Konami!! Hands off the Zelda series!!

  9. I would only say yes to that, if they kept him WELL AWAY from the combat mechanics.
I like the effort, but Lords of Shadow had way, WAY, too much in common with God of War to keep me interested.

  10. I doubt Nintendo would need help on a console Zelda but for the handhelds I don’t see why not. Capcom made really fun games with the two gbc and Minish cap titles.

  11. There was even a Zelda reference in Lord of Shadows!

I’m not sure about them making a Zelda game. LoS did have some Zelda elements like puzzles, key items, and horses lol. I think they could adjust their ways to make a create Zelda game.

  12. I would buy it in a heartbeat! That guys works on Castelvania which is a darker game. I think the Zelda needs to go in a “darker” direction like Twilight Princess. I like it better than where Nintendo is taking it. Don’t get me wrong…I will love LoZ no matter what style it is. I just prefer T.P style.

    1. Amen to that. I think it’s a pretty common opinion among the older Zelda fans. I think they account a big share of the crowd too, considering how much better TP sold than SS.

      1. Yeah, I hope to see another Zelda game with TP inspired graphics at some point in the future. I don’t think it will be this next one, so hopefully the one after!

  13.
