Bethesda’s Vice President of PR and marketing Pete Hines has announced that the company hasn’t got any Wii U games in development. The developer behind the critically acclaimed Elder Scrolls and Fallout wouldn’t reveal why they are skipping Nintendo’s latest home console, but it most likely has to do with low sales. Presumably if hardware sales picked up then it may be something that Bethesda would consider developing for.
“We have nothing announced in development for Wii U. It’s not something that we’ve done anything for previously. I don’t even remember the last time we’ve done a Nintendo title. We don’t have anything now. Whether or not we would in the future is TBD. As for why, I guess I’d rather not go into that.”

You forgot that 3D World comes out this year too. Also Wind Waker HD. A ton of Mario and/or Zelda fans will want to get a Wii U just for those games. Also DKC:TF is coming out. A good amount of DKC fans from the N64 era will want a Wii U now. And who cares if a most of the good games are coming out next year? Since people know they’re coming out, they will most likely want to get a Wii U during the holidays to have it ready for those games.

Last good TES game was Morrowind. After that, easy boring games for every kid. I finished Skyrim on PS3 just because of Platinum trophy.
Fallout 3 is worst in series, New Vegas was great, but I had to use a lot of mods and patches to run it.

Pretty much. I had Nintendo consoles for the longest and always wanted at least -one- of the Fallout or Elder Scrolls games to hit them. They have the kind of freedom I look for in games. Everyone has their perfect franchise/title and there’s the generally accepted perfect/amazing franchise/title and Skyrim and Fallout 3 were mine (Dark Souls is in there too, but this is about Bethesda) Prior to that I’d played the first three Elder Scrolls on PC and loved them, they were exactly what I wanted in a fantasy and open world title.
It wasn’t linear “save the princess, stop the evil wizard/warlord/etc.” You could get around to it when you -wanted to- and do whatever on the side–especially with Morrowind and Oblivion.I pretty much would’ve gone without playing them if it weren’t for finding a hobo’s trousers cheap 360. Would’ve been great to see one of those franchises on Wii U.

It’s not because of low sales. The Wii sold a shit ton and they made nothing for it. The DS sold a grip and they made nothing for it. The 3DS is the fastest selling console ever to 30 million units and overtook the 360 for the most units sold in the NPD for May….yet nothing on the 3DS.
There just bias and don’t want to compete against Nintendo’s first party offerings.

WiiU is out of Third support for the moment, but will happen the same as the 3DS, give it time and you will see more, specially since handhelds sell less third party games

Melee, etc.) Bethesda works with what sells and what is powerful. GC may have been powerful, but I guess it didn’t sell. I wouldn’t know without research, because I was too young to care :P 💋

Their Elder Scrolls games are really amazing. I played Skyrim on my brother’s Xbox (please don’t shun me!!!) and it was REALLY GOOD! Skyrim, Bayonetta, Minecraft and Soul Calibur IV and V are the only Xbox games I have ever played and they were all good. 💋

I bought a PS3 11-11-2011 exclusively for Skyrim and I fucking deflored this game. I played until I remember every fucking cracks on the montains and flowers on the ground.. The story was good… your character story of Dragonborn was epic… and the fucking music + atmosphere was incredible. Even with some bugs and loading time it was very good game.
I’m sure I will have to buy a PS4 to play Fallout 4 and Elder Scroll Online…but THOSES GAMES COULD BE BETER on Wii U. No doupt.

But they kind of butchered Fallout, with New Vegas more than with F3.
Elders Scrolls gets too boring until I can reach the end.
And only game I rather enjoyed from them, was WET (even with the butchered controls).
Dishonored was a nice game too, but I got bored of it.
Wolfenstein I dont think I will buy until its 50% off on Steam.
Trailer I saw looked like generic first person shooter.
Story might be better than on last Wolfenstein game.
This is for the best. Bethesda games have always been designed with the PC in mind. As a result of that, console ports have always been sloppy. Plus their’s would be another game that wouldn’t sell well on WiiU.
On ps360, RAM was the bottleneck.

Elder Scroll and Fallout games are memory hoggers, they will eat as much as available.

Wii was a underpowered console, which is the reason that most 3rd party games didnt make an appearance on it. Though Bethesdas good games had trouble running on ps3 and 360 too.

Bethesda have never made a game for Nintendo save the 2 they made in the 1980’s for the NES.
The reason why Bethesda wont make a game for Nintendo is because Bethesda make games with cutting edge technology and state of the art programming, they are one of the few organizations that deliver true open world RPG simulation experiences.
Nintendo is an organization that develops their consoles with their own games and developers in mind, take into consideration that Nintendo have one of the biggest team of game developers working on games around, a team much larger than Bethesda.
Bethesda’s games do not belong on the WiiU, they develop their games to push the very limits of console technology, WiiU’s technology is already limited.
I’m buying a Wii U for Zelda, Mario ect… Not Skyrim or Fallout, thats what i want a PS4 or Xbox One for.
