A new trailer for The Wind Waker HD combines several of the elements from previous trailers in an attempt to show all the updated features of the game. It starts out by showing comparisons of the Wii U version to old GameCube footage, then later demonstrates some of the differences in Hero mode as opposed to normal mode. The nearly three minute trailer also covers new features like Miiverse integration and faster sailing.
Several recent interviews with the game’s designer, Eiji Aonuma, have illuminated some behind-the-scenes elements of the title, such as its influence on the brand new Zelda game coming to Wii U. The Wind Waker HD will be released as part of a Wii U Deluxe bundle in just over a week, on September 20th.

3DS should’ve been alot more powerful, and 3D was not neccesary as you can see, even nintendo is droping it with the 2ds and almost there really are no games that are based around it anymore, as the matter of fact mario 3d land was the last one

its ok hahah, the old days were also better, nintendo and games overall. arcades were so fun and every game wasnt a lame uninspired fps. i grew up with an n64 and had a nes, the nes was so good because we tried so hard to make the thing work, even of we had the n64, which had some of the best games ever i think. also in the last few years i got to play the snes and it has some incredible games.

Same old game from 10 years ago. At least they could have upped the polygon count on the characters and environments but it exactly the same models. Only thing that changed is the resolution (just add the letters “HD” to the same old game). Same old primitive sound effects Nintendo has been using for the past 30 years. i personally don’t want another highendtech nintendo. there are other consoles for that, you can buy those if that’s what’s important to you. the wiiu and the 3ds are actually my all time favourite nintendo machines. i can play earthbound on the wiiu touchpad, windwaker now as well as mario and tekken, soon watchdogs etc. the touchpad controller is the best thing ever. combined with the vc stuff it’s a dream come true.
i think nintendos next machine will be a hybrid between handheld and homeconsole. the wiiu just paves the way for this.
3ds and wiiu are getting unified with miiverse and eshop integration. with the next ninty console you will be able to connect it to your telly and play at home, or take it with you wherever you go. all signs point in that direction.

I would love an HD remaster of any 3D Zelda. To say this HD version looks worse than the original is ridiculous. Even if you hate the game, the whole series, or Nintendo altogether, its crystal clear this new version looks better. I think the original still looks great but this version is far smoother looking and eye appealing.

Yeah, but think about it. WW was chosen because it has aged well. Nintendo wanted to (re)release a Zelda game for Wii U to tie us over while we wait for The Wii U’s Original Zelda release (which is ways away from release). WW was the fastest Zelda game Nintendo had that could be prettied up just in time to release it at this point in time. A complete reboot of OoT or MM would require a complete overhaul that would take just as long to complete as an original Zelda. Every asset would have to be remade while WW has most of its assets reused and polished. WWHD is only an appetizer for the main course that is Zelda Wii U.

I don’t know about gimmick issue but I am glad I don’t have to pause every second to look at the map and change my items. If the old way of playing is still an option, I don’t think there is any reason to complain really. “The gamepad made the Wii U less powerfull than PS4!” Well, I think the Wii U would still be as powerfull as it is today even if it didn’t come with a gamepad. Nintendo does its thing and Sony does theirs. No point in both being the same thing. That’s why XBone comes with a Kinect. You know, there are Legos and Megablocks. Both essentially the same, but still very different. So yeah, don’t like something, vote with your dollar. CAPITALISM! O_0
