The original Cosmo Black and Ice White Nintendo 3DS consoles will soon be discontinued in Japan. Cosmo Black was a launch colour for the Nintendo 3DS, and Ice White was launched just a few months later. These consoles were the last to contain 2GB memory cards, while the Metallic Red, Light Blue and Gloss Pink all contain 4GB memory cards. Misty Pink and Cobalt Blue were discontinued in Japan during May and they join Flare Red and Aqua Blue in the discontinued list for Japan.

Stanga,I agree the XL speakers suck.I watched a nintendo direct and they said the old speakers would not fit in the XL so they had to get new ones that would from another source.Still well worth the trade off for the bigger screen though.Also most DS games look better on the small DS imo.I tradeded my small 3ds for the XL.But when I can find one real cheap I will buy it a just have both.

If the XL didn’t have such silent speakers, clickable hinges, better battery life than its current one, same 3DS glossy design instead of matte that attracts more stains, better screen resolution, improved rear camera MP and A SECOND ANALOG STICK, then I would agree more. But sadly no. Its just bigger and bulkier for $35-40 more of the same offering.
The XL is a better buy man its only like 30 more bucks and sales show that. No one wants to play on a tiny screen with fingerprints everywhere and worst battery life.

I wish they’d discontinue the white and black Wii U consoles in North America. SO boring! That’s the whole reason why I still don’t have a Wii U, because I hate those boring colors.
I agree with discontinuing white, that color is so damn plain. Usually all the cool color variations release only in Japan, like the orange Gamecube. Remember the PikachuN64 or the Pokemon editon Gameboys? They don’t make them like that anymore.
NippleChu & PokemonXY 3DSXL looked like they just scanned a picture on the internet over a cheap recycled color that didn’t sell well & called it a day. Zelda 3DS anniversary edition was a disgrace compared to the 24 kt. gold GBA SP.
I have the Cosmo Black one and love that color. It’s a fingerprint magnet, but I like it over the regular black of the 3DS XL.
