Nintendo of America has issued an update for Wii Fit U after users found that transferring data from Wii Fit or Wii Fit Plus to Wii Fit U would cause the game to lock up. Users found the error code last week and Nintendo, ever on the ball, provided a quick manual fix for players who may have encountered the problem. The latest patch can be found on Nintendo’s official website, here, as well as instructions on how to download and resolve the bug permanently. Wii Fit U will now release in retail stores December 13 for Europe – the same day as North America – after Nintendo announced a one week delay. The company issued the following statement:
Starting on November 12, 2013, we began distributing the update data to repair some errors. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please take a moment to download the update data for the Wii Fit U title while your Wii U console is connected to the Internet.
We repaired the bug that disabled users from advancing in the game when attempting to transfer data from Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus. If this issue is already occurring, the update data can be downloaded to successfully transfer data.
We repaired the bug that in some instances caused the data measured in the Fit Meter to reflect incorrectly when the data is transferred.
