New Mario And Zelda Games Help Nintendo Shares Reach A 3-Month High

The arrival of Super Mario 3D World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party: Island Tour, has seen Nintendo’s shares up 4.15 percent. The shares reached a a three-month high yesterday, ending the day gaining 4.15 percent on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The Wii U has really struggled, but Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime is confident that the console will perform to the company’s expectations in the coming months.

    1. a 3 month high hardly turns it all around. They’ve still got an enormously long road ahead of them. Straight after Christmas there’ll be a decline again.

  1. Stocks tend move based on where the company is going, particularly 6 months in advance. This move has very little to do with these games being released now. It’s mostly about Dollar v. Yen. Also, most video game stocks do well from November through Spring as this is when most major releases and sales occur. I wish sites would stick to reporting what they know…games….rather than how stocks do for game makers.

  2. Nintendo is just fine, the 3DS is making money hand over fist, even if Wii U doesn’t follow suit. I’m still betting on the Wii U selling well personally. I can’t imagine Mario 3D world, Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros won’t sell at least close to the previous games’ totals. That’s a lot of Wii U consoles.

  3. Zelda for 3DS is pure joy to play. Like reliving my childhood playing LTTP.

3D World is the best Mario game since Mario 64.

    1. I’m glad that you’re having fun playing the new Zelda title for 3DS, Commander. By the time Super Mario 3D World launches in your country, you’re gonna enjoy playing it as well everyone in North America and Japan. This coming Black Friday, I’m buying it at the eShop.

          1. Shut up you 40 year old degenerate!

            1) This is a public site, meaning anyone can reply to anyone, and 2) You are talking to me now.

            Don’t be a smart ass >.>

            1. The only degenerate in here is you, Adoofus!

              1. I know it’s a public site. You’re mistaken me for being a Microsoft dick rider.

              2. You’re the fucking dumbass.

You need to stop being a dumbass and move the fuck on. It’s over.

                1. And one other thing. If my comment is incorrect, why the fuck is Nintendo’s stocks have went all the way up in the Japanese stock market? Too bad you have no fucking proof so piss off, Aeolus wannabe.

            2. Anubis… is this how you treat a member who loves Nintendo and video games no matter what system is on? you really give video gamers a bad name

              1. good luck to you, Nintendo Commander by the time Nintendo of Europe/UK releases Super Mario 3D World, it will sell more games and Wii U consoles like the Japanese Party Premium bundle

        1. Super Mario 3D World should have been on the 3DS with online multiplayer. Nintendo needs to drop the Wii u before it hits rock bottom and their reputation gets forever tarnished.

          1. Worst idea ever. 3D World is the best Wii U game right now. Wii U needs games! They can take a break from major hitting games on the 3DS.

            1. His words are factual. the wii u is a fat flop and nintendo should just spend their time and money on supporting their cute lil 3ds

          2. You are clearly underestimating Nintendo. They have never really failed with anything. The only thing that is making it fail, are the annoyingly lazy and terribly not-so-professional 3rd party developers, who are not learning Wii U’s hardware. I tell you, the longer they leave it, the worse it will be for them. The idea of Wii U’s hardware is that you optimise and can speed up code – with an x86 chip, I can imagine it’ hard to do that. In fact to be honest Espresso should be able to outgun Jaguar.

          1. If 3D World was a DLC pack….it would be the BEST DLC pack of all time in video game history. With so much new content and a change-up in the Mario story-line. I haven’t played such a great Mario game since Galaxy (and Galaxy is regarded as the best platformer of all time).

        2. Mario 3d world is a better looking game then all of the ps4 and Xbox one launch titles combined and that still isn’t saying much. But its a 3d mario in hd it’s gorgeous

        3. Wii U already has games, what it needs is hype, like the one with PS4. If it gets hypped it will start selling as soon as a new game enters.

        4. I don’t think Super Mario 3D World is enough to sell Wii U consoles, maybe if it is bundled with the Wii U or else a price drop $250 for Wii U. Wii U needs new awesome LOZ, new awesome Metroid and or Metriod Prime, new awesome open world 3 demensional Donkey Kong, new open world Super Mario Sunshine 2.

        5. I guess it helps wonders when 3D World is scoring very high review scores across the majority of the big media organisations (although to be fair we can all take them with a pinch of salt).

Guess it’s even funnier when Edge concludes that 3D World is the most next-gen game of 2013. Go find their review if you want to read it.
