Unepic Will Release In North America January 16 For Wii U

EnjoyUp Games has announced via Twitter that indie game Unepic will release later this month in North America for the Wii U. The RPG platformer follows the story of Daniel – an unlikely and “unepic” hero – who finds himself exploring a medieval fantasy world, rather than resuming his everyday life in reality.

Inspired by the NES era, Unepic features more than 100 different in-game weapons, as well as various magic to slay unkindly beasts. The game will release January 16 for North America, but European gamers need not wait too long as the developer hopes to release the platformer later this month. Let us know if you’ll be giving this game a whirl on the eShop in the comments below.

  1. Well, a lot of schools are closed today due to Winter Storm Ion, so expect a lot of kids to make poorly-typed trolling efforts.

  2. This looks awesome! The trailer shows that’s its kind of poking fun at these types of games and it’s cool that it doesn’t take it self too seriously.

  3. Damn it! I just bought it on Steam during the Winter Sale…

Ah well, I’ll buy it again if it means I can play it on the Gamepad…

  5. Looks really good. Also, +1 for it being not only on Wii U, but for Nintendo receiving the first non-PC version. Nintendo are doing well rallying the Indies.
