Nintendo Wants To Establish Greater Ties With Consumers Via Smart Devices

Nintendo has confirmed that it plans to use smart devices to expand its platform business and establish greater ties with consumers. The firm says it will use a small team of developers to create attention-grabbing content for smart devices, including an unannounced application that is scheduled to release this year.

“I have not given any restrictions to the development team, even not ruling out the possibility of making games or using our game characters,” said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata. “However, if you report that we will release Mario on smart devices, it would be a completely misleading statement. It is our intention to release some application on smart devices this year that is capable of attracting consumer attention and communicating the value of our entertainment offerings, so I would encourage you to see how our approach yields results.”

  1. HURRY UP WITH MIIVERSE MOBILE. Jeebus Price. Feels luke it’s been forever already. And we’re in need of something like Nintendo Power. Nintendo direct simply isnt cutting my monthly cravings

  2. Sounds intense! Nintendo! How about you make a killer game with all that money! Also pay YouTube promoters just like how mike-ro-softies did w/the x bone to say its the next best thing to white bread! But seriously I want an rpg on the wii u…

  3. I hope we get a Nintendo Network app, with the possibility to buy and download games to your Wii U (and 3DS) on the go! I’d also like to see more use of both Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS in apps and games, rewarding people who own both!

  4. A Nintendo app or an Eshop app would be nice on my android, make it happen, not sure why havent this being made already, Iwata needs to step down already..

    1. More like Reggie he is responsible for what happens in the US in the first place. Fire him and hire someone with more drive.

its not Iwata its the investors that pushed for the Wii U to be low power, to push Mario and other remakes, and to make the system power PC over X86. Screw the investors. But hay Iwata is buying out 8% that move well push out sloppy investors and raise company value

    1. blacks the master race whites now our slaves obama rule over u. u now the minority enjoy increase pricetags overinflation and more job cuts keep kissing our ass whitetrash while we keep fukng ur women and further extinguishing ur race into oblivion lol

  5. Bring VC to Mobile Platforms, but only allow the games to be played with a Nintendo Network ID that is assigned to a Wii U. Therefore if you wanted to play VC games on a mobile device you would HAVE to purchase a Wii U first

    1. So, it’s NOT bringing the Virtual Console to mobile, it’s bringing the Nintendo eShop to mobile so you can buy there and go home and play on your Wii U!

  6. I’m already tired of talking smartphones and Nintendo, I bought so many smartphone games and I only played ONE! ONE THAT I REALLY LIKED! After that I haven’t put down my 3DS playing Pokemon Y, why? ‘CAUSE IT’S A FULL PRICED, FULL EXPERIENCE VIDEO GAME! WOOHOO!
