The Wallstreet Journal has revealed that Broncos linebacker Nate Irving has spent his week playing Pokemon rather than partying and socialising with team mates. Irving has reportedly been playing Pokemon three hours a night this week trying to capture the adorable monsters found throughout the game. Irving brings his handheld on road trips so he can play Pokemon on the planes and buses.
“I try to hide it from them,” Irving said, “like bend over in the seat, like I’m asleep, or play with my head down.”
“I know not too many people are into the things I’m into,” he said. “I just embrace that and I enjoy it.”
I don’t think there’s any reason to hide it
Because he’s an adult playing a children’s game. Some people would make a big deal out of it.
That’s just sad…I mean people making something out of it is sad.
In Japan men in their 40’s read manga’s instead of the newspapers and play Pokémon and such. Hell in North America some men in their 40’s are fans of MLP….now that’s something to be ashamed of.
So having an interest is something to be ashamed of? People are entitled to like what they want and if you know nothing about it or next to nothing then you’re not really entitled to an opinion and you just come off looking like a bigot.
To me it seems like those men are more secure about who they are in life and realize they don’t need to conform to society’s standards just to be accepted. They live normal lives just like you and me. To judge them based off their interests not only shows ignorance of a subject but also shows that you need a reason to put yourself above them for your own self-worth which seems kind of sad and something that truly deserves to be ashamed of.
Yes people are entitled to like whatever they want but people are also entitled to make fun of whoever they want. People dress up like furries in public but they are aware that other people will point and laugh. You have two options, either develop some thick skin and ignore the jokes, or don’t do it in public.
Is not a children game at all, in the championships have three age divisions, and the younger is absolutely nothing to laugh at, they are horribly smart and calculative, with their Drizzle Politoeds and Thundurus.
There’s no arguing that it’s at least targeted at children. You try telling that to anyone and see if they’ll believe a game about cute monsters fighting each other isn’t a children’s game.
The theme of the game may be fantastic and childish, but Pokemon is not directly aimed only at children, it´s audience has a wide range. It´s a game for anyone who enjoy gaming.
Dude, it’s a children game, it’s a fact. Just because many adults (myself included) enjoy it does not mean it’s a not a children game. Some of dialogues in XY is so stupid it’s actually embarrassing.
Yeah, if he really likes Pokémon, then more power to him. If there are people that has a problem with that, then it’s their problem, not his.

Ah, well I definitely love the 3DS and own both Kid Icarus and OOT. I just don’t take it outside because I’m always wary of someone trying to steal it. A DS is pretty safe because it’s not really new anymore. I play the 3DS a lot at home!

well… apart form the japanese Rpg´s, I also don´t see many interesting games on it, either. Most games are just about shooting and gore and crime and war and shooting and shooting and gore (repeat infinitely).

Haha playing Pokemon should never be hidden, but I completely understand. Hell, I’d rather play Pokemon than go to party anyways, especially typical parties but luckily the “parties” i do go to are ones where my friends and I game out. Pokemon tends to be one of the games played a lot lol in addition to plenty of others.
