Batman Arkham Origins Developer Says “No Plans On Releasing Another Patch”

Mercury, Batman Arkham Origins community manager, has announced on the Warner Bros community forums that the development team has no plans to release another patch for the fragile game and is focussing its efforts on the forthcoming downloadable content which is due out on other platforms. Mercury says if they do eventually get around to creating another patch it will be to target the progression blocking bugs and not the glitches.

“The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.”

“If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.”

“We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient.”

  1. Oh yeah no problem. I mean what developer backs their games after release ya douche bags. Screw your DLC. I’m not buying it because you also screwed Wii U owners, who also happen to severely need a patch

  3. I’ve nearly completed the game and I’ve only had one glitch so far.

In the sewers near the end of the game, during a part where you need to raise the water level to proceed, the water texture failed to appear. So I thought I couldn’t progress because i had nowhere to throw the glue bomb to make a raft. Turns out the water was there, but I just couldn’t see it because the texture hadn’t loaded. So I just threw the glue bomb into the nothingness and the platform appeared.

Took ages to realise this. No amount of restarting the game or Wii U fixed it.

  4. The frame rate issues were inexcusable in Arkham City and Origins. Eventually traded up my WII U copy for PS3 to play Origins. You hear all these lazy statements by developers a lot more often. That’s the difference between greatness and b class developer.

  5. Yeah I will never buy a game by those developers. And that’s why you have so many one hit wonder developers for shi… like that

  6. Anyone surprised with the unabashed arrogance that these companies have nowadays like their companies are full-proof or is it just par for the course and expected behavior?

It’s almost comical. They seriously act as though people have to buy their games. I bought Arkham City: Armored Edition and was thinking about getting this one until I saw the frame rate issues were even WORSE than the first game in which I let it slide. Not having DLC didn’t even bother me because I have excepted the fact that DLC + 3rd parties does not = Wii U. The have the nerve to intentionally release an unfinished, unoptimized, or broken game, charge full price for it, and then say that you aren’t going to fix it? Oh no, I have no respect for people like that.

We all make mistakes but to not fix your mistakes and act as though doing so would be like doing us a favor is a level of foolery I cannot describe. Will not TOUCH another game made by this company.

  7. i really hope their is something to play after DK…. thats like two months for a wait for MK8 nintendo did promise no more software droughts i really hope they dont disapoint me again :/

    1. If this is the kind of crap from 3rd parties is what we have to expect, screw them. I’d rather go through a game drought than deal with a half finished or broken game.

      1. You must be pretty simple person to think that this over used joke is funny, but you know, stupid people are easy to entertain.

        1. Yeah, I guess I am stupid and simple, because I did find it funny. Well…not funny but it was just unexpected which made me “chuckle”. That’s all bud. But hey, if you are honestly to ahem…stupid, to understand that, then oh well. It’s not I actually laughed at it haha, and I am a wii u owner bud, but I’m not a butthurt little bitch and I honestly do not care about people dissing the console. Get real bud, and take a joke.

  8. Nintendo needs to team up with Capcom to make Megaman 11 in the same vein as New Super Mario Bros. Wii and then Megaman X9.

  9. Lol do us all a favor and fuck off. No one cares what you think. Go stick your dick in a malfunctioning PS4 or XBONE, take your pick, then write a novel about how graphics change the 6’s and 7’s their launch games received to 10’s and well keep playing games that change the way we perceive gaming as a whole and enjoying the experiencing that we will remember for a life time.

  13. FuCKING GLITCHED GAME THEY DON’T EVEN WANT TO FIX AND NO DLC FOR WII U OWNERS! THEN THEY SAY WHY WII U OWNERS DON’T BUY THEIR SHITTY GLITCHY GAME!

    1. Seriously. This is why Nintendo’s first party titles always, ALWAYS dominate the market on Nintendo systems these days. In the old days, Nintendo’s first party titles & the 3rd party titles use to be rather neck & neck on NES & SNES. It’s amazing the 3DS 3rd party games aren’t getting majorly crapped on. Of course, considering how the Vita is doing, I see why 3rd parties aren’t screwing over 3DS users. If their shit doesn’t sell on Wii U, that’s cool cuz they’ll do wonderfully on PS4 & XB1. If they don’t’ sell on 3DS, heh heh…

  14. They launch array of products that can draw the youngster’s interest and by aiming youths they automatically target their parents.
