Final Fantasy XIV director would love to hear pitches for single-player spin-off

The online MMO Final Fantasy XIV is jam-packed with content with a number of expansions all fleshing out the narrative. However, Yoshi-P says that he sometimes considers making a single player standalone Final Fantasy XIV for those who are adverse to MMOs. He told media at a press conference during Final Fantasy Fan Fest in Anaheim that “if there are people who are interested in creating a standalone FFXIV, if you have any friends or know of companies who really want to take on that challenge we would love to hear from them.”

“There are still a lot of people out there who look at an online Final Fantasy and they say an online Final Fantasy is not a Final Fantasy,”

“While I do love to consider making a single player standalone Final Fantasy XIV, unfortunately the only team who could potentially make the best standalone FFXIV game is the current FFXIV team.”

“As for a spin-off, of course I would love to consider taking on that challenge, maybe build a smaller team within the Creative Business Unit 3,” he says.

“But then if that happens, I’m sure FFXIV players would look at that project and go ‘Instead of focusing on some spin-off project, you should work more on the main actual FFXIV game.’”

“On the flip side, if there are people who are interested in creating a standalone FFXIV, if you have any friends or know of companies who really want to take on that challenge we would love to hear from them,” he says.

“I’m half joking, half serious. If somebody is passionate enough to helm that project, we would love to hear from you.”

  1. It should be a mix of rts and Phantasy star online. Make a party FF1 style for the other “players” and have auto battle mechanics with the player mainly controlling positioning and movement of party members. It wouldn’t be that hard to implement just the full ff14 story as a solo game, especially since a lot of content is solo anyway.

  2. No fire this clown alrewdy after 16 flopped and 14 fell off they had brief increase then fell off. Gaming industry and hollywood all seem more interested in faking it than actual success. Whole world seem more focused on keeping narratives going over actual truth to prevent real change for the better.

    1. Make 1.0 of ffxiv an offline game, not version 1.23b because by then Yoshi-P had ruined 1.0 by making classes super weak, modified most of the npc dialog in towns and elsewhere, changed the amount of special effects in battle and size of enemies, added jobs which were much weaker and useless compared to classes, of which he ruined classes by removing the majority of attacks and spells. Plus tons of other changes that ruined the game, all Yoshi-P had to do was fix the fatigue system and the MP restore system and 1.0 would have been drastically better, instead Yoshi-P just went in there and ruined the amazing things of 1.0… You should see the quality differences between cutscenes from 1.0 and cutscenes added by Yoshi-P in 1.23b. It’s like the difference between a Hollywood director (Tanaka, real creator or ffxiv) versus a tiktok video (Yoshi-P, backstabbed co-worker to steal his ffxiv project, Yoshi-P, aka Naoki Yoshida, did not create ffxiv, he stole it and changed it. He did not fix it, he changed it into a preview of the garbage that ARR, A Realm Reborn, would be like.) The main story of 1.0 was so damn good, the main story of 2.0 and beyond (ARR) is so horrible and boring that they sell skip passes so you don’t have to suffer through Yoshi-P’s storytelling…Says a lot to those that pay attention…

That clown, Yoshi-P, should not have a single say in the offline ffxiv since he can’t even handle the online ffxiv. Square-Enix is disgusting for allowing an employee (yoshi-p) who was still new to the company compared to most other employees, to take a main FF game away from one of the original creators of the FF series, Mr. Tanaka. They gave FFXIV to a backstabbing weasel who has no idea what makes FF legendary and loved, instead of letting the legendary Tanaka address gamer concerns and fix the issues.

ffxiv 1.0 had a much better solo experience, a lvl50 THM could solo any enemy in the entire game, lvl99 mob, no problem as long as you had the skill to use the abilities wisely, the story of 1.0 is drastically better than any story Yoshi-P has ever produced, the Tanaka made cutscenes are drastically better than what yoshi-p put out. Yoshi-p got rid of your Path Companion, a partner that does main scenario with you, you can pick from many of them and even name him/her.

The gear, omg, yoshi-p sh@t all over it, the gear was crispy clear and there were soooo many versions of each gear, yoshi-p got rid of most versions, cancelled some gear styles completely and lowered the quality of the textures of every single piece of gear in the game. Yoshi-P got rid of 90% of your hard earn gil (currency) when ARR came out, no joke, straight up robbery. Yoshi-P also got rid of +2 and +3 gear and weapons and items, people paid a fortune for those gear and once ARR came out they were merged in +1…making tons of highend gear/weapons/items become a lower quality version. Also, not related but still annoying, why did Yoshi-P remove the 3 tails Hellhounds had and made them have only 1 tail? The three tails is what made the enemy unique…

He butchered the towns, the only one that stayed similiar to 1.0 was Ul’dah. Gridania and Limsa Lominsa are not, I want the musketeer shop brought back… He also ruined all the enviroments making them MUCH smaller, The Black Shroud actually felt scary to walk through until you got used to it. Thanalan felt like a massive desert, it was beautiful, La Noscea was a beautiful island with 3 small islands and a super small land mass along with them, Coerthas was not covered in snow and was 12x bigger than the one we got in ARR, even Mor Dhona felt creepy, like it was dangerous to be in there, and you could go completely around the crashed airship in the lake, unlike in ARR where you can only see one side of it. Even the dungeons are ruined, making them instanced timed visits instead of freely explorable like they were in 1.0, for example Darkhold in Coerthas, the dungeon was huge with a dragon egg area that housed a dragon fight, Yoshi-P backstabbed Tanaka before Tanaka made that dungeon accessible, so by 1.23b Yoshi-P made the dungeon instanced instead of freely explorable, only let you access like 15% of the dungeon, and when ARR version came out it was much smaller than the 15% version and then a few years later Yoshi-P made the 15% Darkhold even smaller than that. SMFH. So many cool looking enviroments, never seen because of Yoshi-P. Oh yeah, tons of dungeons were cancelled. Ever been to Hengr’s Crucible as a dungeon instead of a pointless floating small island? How about Leygamn’s Fesse? The three entrance dungeon in Thanalan, or the two entrance dungeon in Thanalan and the black shroud, or how about a dungeon that connects to another dungeon in La Noscea? Or the countless other dungeons that Yoshi-P likes to pretend didn’t exist.

Yoshi-P got rid of all upcoming classes, whip-bases class, gone, musketeer, gone, arcanist, changed to the point that it is a completely different class, sentinel, was a secondry class in the 1.0, Yoshi-P removed it completely, which screwed over THM and CON, oh yeah yoshi-p changed CON to CNJ, Enforcer club based tank, gone, Mystic magic class, gone, a bard class, nothing like the bard job, is gone, Shepherd, a land class, is gone, assassin class, gone, Fencer, a dual wielding rapier class, gone, plus more cancelled classes by Yoshi-P. The enemies, much lower quality textures of the same enemy from Yoshi-P compared to a much higher quality version of the same enemy in 1.0. Also, instead of creating new enemies, Yoshi-P directly ports the enemies from PS2 games, FFXI, FFXII, FFXIII (ps3) to put into a ps4/5 game…Naoki Yoshida also just changes the appearance of a 1.0 enemy and pretends it’s a new enemy. Freaking lazy as hell…

So, long story short, keep that clueless moron, Yoshi-P, the hell away from anything FF, including an offline FFXIV.

  3. Since my post won’t show up, I’m gonna break it down into mutliple posts:

Now FFIV is a g@y parade everytime you go into Limsa Lominsa, with a bunch of men dresses like women or worst doing emotes to simulated $exu@l acts…Yeah, that’s what FF is all about now, with Yoshi-P turning FFXVI Bahamut in a fruit, putting FFXIV Urianger in a dress,. Yay, Yoshi-P knows exactly what FF is about, men in woman’s clothes and g@y parades. Yep, that is all over FF1 through FF14 1.0, cause you can’t have FF without fruitiness… smfh
