It’s a good deal for those who don’t have the console yet and are on the fence. I have every game there but Lego City and Yoshi, lol…

Is just a ‘big smoke’ after all?
Ahahahahahaah…
Here is something even more embarrasing!
Fuck off. Nuff said.
It’s disappointing that they don’t give the choice of a physical copy or digital but nice deal none the less.
BIG DEAL! It’s a download code. It’s not like actually owning it. Why do people act like they own the game when it’s just a stupid download? Same crap Nintendo did with the Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle. Putting a download code for the game instead of the actual, physical copy. Cheapskates. Nintendo ruins bundles and deals with this download code garbage.
I Download almost all my retail games. I never have to swap game carts out and it’s pretty damn convenient. You may not like them, but many of us do.
Same here. Besides, SD cards are super cheap. Got a 32GB for $20 when it usually retails more than $30 and its enough space for loads of downloadable games.
You still own the game and can play it. Getting mad and fuming about something just because you prefer physical copies doesn’t help anybody. It just makes you look like a whiner. I’d be more than happy to take the deal, and not having to switch carts suits me better anyways. If you’re so mad, why not just go out and by a physical copy in protest? That’ll show ’em.
I guess the desire for physical copies is mostly an old-school gaming preference. Being a game collector (and old-school game lover), I believe in physical copy or nothing. Besides, I don’t really care much for Pokémon anymore. I grew out of it. You play one Pokémon game, you’ve basically played them all. At least, that’s how I felt when I attempted to play only my second game.
The download code allows you to download the game straight from the eShop. What you download is the full game, exactly the same as what you would get if you were to pay for the game. That’s how download codes work.
So yes, you do own the game.
Until your 3DS (or Wii U) goes out. Then you lose it all.
I learned my lesson about digital download games with the original Wii. I had several Virtual Console games on my Wii, then it went out. And (just because I didn’t pay to have the Wii fixed, for an outrageous price) Nintendo couldn’t do anything about it. That taught me a valuable lesson. That owning too many digital games is just dumb. They’re unreliable, and there’s no guarantee that Nintendo will always support the Virtual Console games you download.
But it was kinda negligent of you that you didn’t you save them to an SD or a hard drive
That’s not the problem. The problem is it’s tied to the actual hardware. If your device breaks you need Nintendo to fix it and/or pay them to transfer your titles.
You’re absolutely right. nintendo needs to move to an account based system like every other company in the world. But in the mean time I too buy everything in the eshop. Got some good half off sales to help ease the risk.
Agreed my fellow comrade…
I never buy digital unless the game is only available digitally…
Or if it’s cheaper. Or if you can reliably re-download it, a la Playstation/Xbox. As much as we hate to say it, we’re inevitably going to make the switch to full digital at some point. Yeah, Nintendo’s lagging in that department pretty badly. But being stubborn about this just because you grew up in the age where cartridge-based gaming was the predominant format (I was as well, I completely understand where that mentality comes from) is only making matters worse. For Nintendo to get any kind of helpful feedback from things like this, you can’t just have reasons like “Well, digital is stupid. How do I know I own a game if I can’t hold it in my hands?” The only real problem is their account system.
Whatever the reason, surrendering our lives in every aspect to computers and the digital world is the most stupidest idea ever…
We’re talking about Nintendo here, not Skynet. I think you may be blowing this out of proportion just a little, man.
Nintendo or not, it’s stupid no matter what it’s about…
It always starts small you know…
Granted, that may or may not be the case. Even so, if you’re going to resent any company that does anything that focuses on digital, it’s more than hypocritical to be arguing that sentiment over the internet, by action admitting that you’ve already surrendered aspects of your life to the computers and digital world you seem to resent so much.
I’m not against 100% digital, but entertainment should always leave you with a choice…
Nintendo going digital? no I will never see that as an option at all, there will always be retail and digital in 99% of the cases. never digital only, remember not everyone has access to an internet connection capable of downloading huge amounts of data
Well in the meantime, I just enjoy the games…
Talking about games, which of these games do you all recommend the most?…
DKCR3D, Mario Tennis WT, SLW, Yoshi’s New Island or Kirby Triplle Deluxe?…
I recoomend you get Zelda ALBW, Kid Icarus uprisng, unlessu have them
out of the list u made below………Mario tennis and Kirby.
I have the ones you mentioned above, Kid Icarus was the first one I got of all 3DS games and I simply love it, a true masterpiece, same with Zelda…
Ok noted…
Although I haven’t played Yoshi’s New Island (Due to the Nintendo distributor of South Africa’s inferiour efficiency, Kirby and Yoshi haven’t released yet…) from what I saw in gameplays I say you should get that or DKCR, unless you enjoy sport games I say get Mario Tennis WT I for one hate sport games
Ok noted…
u know I usually prefer physical always and I don’t have many eshop titles.
HOWEVER I LOVE my gold Zelda 3d xl + the Zelda game.
So, you’re for digital prominence in other aspects of life, but not in terms of entertainment? I agree, it should give you a choice, but to be so concerned about the trivial part of that argument isn’t the way you made it sound earlier. In fact, you literally straight up said that “surrendering our lives in every aspect” was exactly what you were against.
do a wii u promotion with windwaker / 3d world / dk for free.
Reblogged this on On the Wing of an Albatross and commented:
That is very cool and a good incentive to get a 2DS or 3DS :)
So you actually have to register the games and system in March. If not, I have an XL and MK7, but they are already registered, so…
Same. Hoping this promotion carries-over for us previous owners.
