Imai will collaborate with Unchained Blade developer FuRyu to bring Hamatora: Look at Smoking World to the Japanese 3DS. For those who are new to the anime, Imai assures that the game is user-friendly and will take place in the same universe as Hamatora: The Animation, but will feature a different story.
Set in the town of Kobe, the RPG adventure game focuses on a high-school transfer student with special powers, and will feature an original cast of characters, with a strategy-based RPG battle system. You can see a short teaser trailer for the game above. Hamatora: Look at Smoking World is due for release in Japan on July 17, this year.

This article makes me want to go back to Unchained Blades. It’s your typical jRPG, not unlike Etrain Odyssey. Strain Odyssey Untold takes a very mechanical jRPG interface and gives it life and makes it feel a bit more organic.
That said, Unchained Blades required a bit more dungeon-grinding than I would have liked. Etrain Odyssey 4 suffered the same. I’d loom forward to this game, but it’s a very delicate formula to balance. If they get it right, as with EOU, I’d certainly support it.
if you’re not familiar with this type of game play, download a demo of an installment of the Etrain Odyssy series. You’ll be intrigued or you’ll hate it. ;)
