Smash Bros 3DS Screenshot Details Balloon Fight Stage

smash_bros_balloon_fightSuper Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai has popped onto Miiverse for his daily post to showcase another exclusive 3DS stage. The NES Balloon Fight stage was briefly shown during the Smash Bros. Direct earlier this month, along with Pokemon X and Y’s Prism Tower and Animal Crossing New Leaf’s Tortimer Island.

In his Miiverse post, Sakurai details that the stage will wrap around your fighter, allowing you to walk to one end and find yourself back on the other end of the screen, creating the same experience as the NES version – great for retro junkies and for getting the upper hand on enemies. Here’s what Sakurai said on Miiverse:

“Here’s a special stage exclusive to the 3DS version, Balloon Fight!! The stage loops on the left and right sides so you can walk off one side and appear on the other.”

    1. Nintendo is my Blood

Something tells my KOs are the result of falling into the water or being eaten by the sea snake…

  1. Damn Sakurai is lazy with all these uninspired stage designs lol

    They rushing this game wow

MARK MY WORDS,THIS GAME WILL BE INFERIOR TO SSB BRAWL.

Not only will it sell less, but it will be rated lower then both Melee and Brawl.

    1. Nope. So far Wii U has brought life to the old franchises and made them better than ever. Donkey Kong, Mario, WWHD. And this will be added. And this is a 3DS stage btw.

    2. So go ahead and design more inspired stages than Sakurai and release a version of the game in a quicker amount of time that doesn’t suck. I bet you can’t.

    3. Nintendo is my Blood

      mkay, couple of points

      1. How can Sakurai design a better version of a stage that was originally only 8-Bit while still keeping it “retro”?
      2. So what if the game is rated lower than the predecessor? We are talking about the same gaming community that encouraged games like “Goat Simulator” and “Flappy Bird”
CoD Ghosts sucked the big one according to reviewers but that didn’t mean it didn’t sell like hot cakes

    4. Oh, and this game was announced back in 2011, almost three years ago. I would hardly say the game’s being rushed.

    1. Sadly, we can expect old news for the next few months since the Direct had revealed too much for its own good. Sakurai will just explain each thing that we had seen in the direct or IGN’s press conference with the Tanooki Leaf.

  2. Nothing we didn’t already know.

Not like it matters, because we already have so much information on Smash Bros it’s not like Sakurai needs to keep spoiling us. One more big E3 presentation should be enough. Everything else can just be showing off a little thing here and there.

    1. They shouldnt be doing these pic of the day crap anyway. I rather be surprised when I by the game and I am playing it day by day constantly unlocking stuff.
