Masahiro Sakurai has today provided players with a glimpse of how the bottom screen looks on the Nintendo 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. Judging from the image provided I couldn’t think of a better way to utilise that second screen. Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo 3DS is coming this summer, while the Wii U version is scheduled for release sometime in the winter.
“Here’s a first look at the bottom-screen display for the Nintendo 3DS. Your name will appear in the area above the accumulated damage. And if you tap one of the fighter displays…!”
“…You can highlight that fighter on your screen. This is useful when you want to get back at a particular opponent. You can also highlight yourself if you need to keep better track of where you are. This is a great benefit to having your own individual screen.”

Nintendo Commander that actually would be a really good idea. I wonder if they decided against that due to the lower resolution of the bottom screen possible causing clarity issue, etc for that type of view
Sakurai HAD to use the bottom screen for the fighter display and damage display, because there is not enough room on the top screen to show it. The top screen is already small enough, no reason to clutter it with stuff that can be displayed below.

Well, this is the first smash for a portable system, let’s hope for some solid controls… I’m just glad I just got an XL, I can at street fighter IV, Tekken and DoA waaaaay better than the normal 3DS, those games actually play quite well and smash doesn’t have complicated inputs for special moves so we should be fine, a couple of minutes to get used to it I guess.
This is why having a second screen is so useful for portables. Action on the top screen, HUD clutter on the bottom.

In Metacritic, the users of Watchdogs are giving it VERY low scores. It’s very glitchy and there are resolution/rendering issues. Also their servers are jacked up really bad. Watchdogs had a huge hype-launch, and I hope they get it patched up for the WiiU version, but right now, the software is in shambles.

Same thing happened to Fallout New Vegas. They gave it an 8.5 due to issues with software. Kind of stupid, in my opinion.
Why? The game should have been fully working on Day 1 of it being bought. Don’t defend Ubisoft by saying “oh they should wait for it to be fixed.” They shouldn’t have to wait! It was a so called finished, released game. I shouldn’t have to sit around a few weeks to wait for the problems to be fixed when they should have been fixed before ever shipping. If they payed for a broken game, they should be able to rate it right then & there to let people that haven’t bought it know not to bother buying it yet since it will probably be broken for them.
You have a point, but at the same time, people won’t know what the game is like at all for those who actually get the game to work. Issues should subtract from the score, but the rating shouldn’t be based purely around it.

It’s up to the person reading the review whether they will listen to it & not buy the game til shit is fixed or whether they will ignore the review & buy the game before everything is fixed. I’d hope people do the former & wait. Because you never know. The game might get so much bad press that they might not even bother wasting their money on fixing it so the people that ignored the review end up with a broken game that the developer has no intention of EVER fixing because they think it’d be just a waste of their time & money. I got the game on day 1 for pc and it runs beautifully. All the hype for me was definitely worth it and the gameplay is beyond enjoyable. I was worried about aiden being some abtisocial loner that would bore the game down but he’s a pretty good protagonist. You should definetly check it out when you have time and money.
The xb1, and ps4 were not powerful enough to run the game so they had to gimp the hell out of it. Its a shame really.
