With the biggest gaming event of the year over, a new madness will overtake Twitch live-streams this weekend with the seventh annual Mario Marathon. Beginning this Friday, June 20, the Mario Marathon will bring together gamers from Indianapolis to play through 25 years of Nintendo’s Super Mario titles.
Raising funds for Child’s Play, a charity which provides toys, games and books to children’s hospitals across the world, the Mario Marathon will attempt to cross the $500,000 mark for the first time in its six-year run. Since its launch, the event has raised over $420,000 for the Child’s Play Charity.
This year’s line-up will see the fundraising event tackle all 13 console Mario games, with a 100% run-through targeted for Super Mario 3D World. Event viewers will have an opportunity to win a variety of Mario goodies and interact with the team during the marathon. You can both watch the event (beginning 11AM EDT, June 20) and donate to Child’s Play Charity at the official website, here.
