Hyrule Warriors Update Arrives September 1 For Japan With New Challenge Mode

Koei Tecmo has announced via Twitter that its free update for Hyrule Warriors will arrive for Japanese Wii U owners on September 1. Along with the usual bug fixes, the free to download Version 1.2.0 will include a new challenge game mode, which allows players to complete a series of specific events against a countdown clock.

The update will also give players the opportunity to change the background music setting for their preference on the battle field, along with adding a brand new weapon for Link: an 8-bit Sword. Other additional tweaks to the game include fixes for the Wii U GamePad’s off-TV play function, stabilising and syncing the in-game sound, as well as enhancements to the game’s overall stability. Screenshots can be viewed in the gallery below, or on the Hyrule Warriors official Japanese website, here.

  1. Great! Guessing we will get this as a one day update? Still haven’t pre-ordered the game, don’t know where it will give me the most pre-ordering free content..!

  2. NICE! I’ll probably preorder 2 weeks ahead. I just saw you can preorder the dlc for Mario Kart 8, pretty sick nintendo is stepping up with updating their games.

  3. I hope no one actually got their hopes up in thinking the new mode would actually be online co-op. If so, this article will no doubt piss them off.
