Hyrule Warriors Gets Update In Japan, DLC Details And Cia Character Trailer

Koei Tecmo has provided Hyrule Warriors fans with a few new details regarding the first DLC pack for Japan. According to an update on the official website, the DLC pack will contain additional costumes for Lana and Cia, Link’s trusted steed Epona as Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma announced last week, the untold storyline of the Black Witch Cia, and a new adventure mode map for 1,200 yen. However, players can purchase all of the above separately for a cost of 500 yen each for the Epona, Cia storyline, and additional adventure map, or opt for the costume pack for Lana and Cia for 200 yen.

The Master Quest Pack will be released October 16 for Japan, Europe and North America. Western prices are yet to be confirmed when purchasing the DLC separately, however Nintendo of America stated that owners of the game can buy a season pass for $19.99, which will give them access to all four of the upcoming DLC packs.

The Dynasty Warriors developer has also uploaded a brand new trailer showcasing Hyrule Warriors’ main villain and her deadly moves on the battlefield. You can take a look at Cia’s vicious battle techniques in the video embedded above. For Japanese players, it appears version 1.3.0 is now available for Hyrule Warriors.

You can check out the official website for the latest DLC screenshots, or alternatively view them in the gallery below. Here are some additional details for the DLC:

  • Adventure map adds “Master Quest” rules, so you won’t be able to heal or use items.
  • Players can discover Cia, Volga and Wizzro’s high-ranked battle weapons throughout the map, as well as an array of scattered weapons and other rewards.

    1. I’m loving it. But then, I’m a warriors fan…and the modded/expanded Zelda story line is just awesome.

Sorry it’s not your cup of tea! When we only get one game every few months, some of us strike gold, while the rest go hungry! :/

But omg I love this game! Just getting ready to unlock Midna tonight!! <3 I love that demon, wolf-loving character.

      1. Im not even a warriors fan and thought this game sounded like a terrible wast of time at first, but actually playing it i was surprised how solid the game is. Super fun to play and has a lot of depth/strategy.

  1. I love Cia’s secondary costume! I can’t wait for this DLC! I beat the game and still have plenty to keep me busy until this pack releases.

    1. Fuck that! I’m sick of censorship in the states over something so stupid as “too much skin.” These people need to get out more & go to a beach, so they can learn what’s sexual & what’s not.

        1. Not always, though. I enjoy a good teasing now & then, though. Like Juliet Starling’s outfit from the game Lollipop Chainsaw.

      1. I agree. I’m so sick of all these people b***hing and moaning about Cia. Honestly, it’s like they don’t watch TV, play many games or are just total hypocrites. Cia is not even that bad… just because she has big boobs and is wearing a corset that shows skin.

  2. Great that the DLC is nearly here, but wasn’t the DLC supposed to be free? I could have sworn that the villains had been announced as free DLC back at the beginning of September, but maybe that was just for Europe.

As for me, I can safely say that the game surpassed my expectations. My bro pre ordered it so I got to play it from day 1 and finally completed Legend Mode yesterday. Now I’m working on Adventure Mode and I figure that I’ll just keep playing it until Smash Bros 3DS comes out in a few days. I gave it a 9/10 in my review.

Long story short, The game’s gameplay is very smooth and it is just as well done as any Dynasty Warriors game. Everything is more colorful and the characters are more interesting, which makes the story a lot better than usual. Compared to the average DW game, it is lacking in characters, but that’s all right because it’s still such a great homage to the Legend of Zelda series. I had no negatives with it and enjoyed every part of the game. This is a bold statement, but I consider Hyrule Warriors to be the best game on the Wii U! (Smash Bros will likely dethrone it soon) So, if you’re on the fence, (Nintendo Commander and Nostalgia_W) I definitely recommend getting this game right away!

    1. Villain DLC that makes Cia, Volga and Wizzro playable is free on October 16. However, the first of four paid DLC packs which include everything stated in the article above will also be available on October 16. Hope that clears things up a bit. :)

      1. Ah, got it. Well, then that’s back to being awesome news! I’m going to have a blast playing as all of them, but especially Volga. He’s a superb addition to the Legend of Zelda franchise. Thanks for the quick reply! =D

  3. Nintendo is my Blood Reborn

I love this game, I wasn’t expecting much of a Zelda experience but it certainly surprised me.

Though I do feel it gets quite repetitive it is overlooked by the vast content and plethora of challenges.

    I give it a personal 8/10

  4. I’ve got a question. The preorder exclusive dlc depending on where you buy them. Will that be available to anyone later?

      1. That’s good, because I really want the SS Zelda costume. I got the OoT pack and Iv wasn’t impressed. Links arms are to bulky and Zelda has problems with her dress. It doesn’t react properly when she runs or opens chests.

        1. Yeah. Her dress does look pretty stupid when moving. Unfortunately, I don’t expect any different from the Twilight Princess & Skyward Sword outfits for Zelda, either. They obviously didn’t put much thought into how the dresses would look when you actually played with them on.

      1. Nintendo Sub-Lieutenant

Medli is my JAM! I’d Medli for days if I had the time and energy. Also, there is a strange “Medly” Hovering below your reply button. Not sure what that’s all about.

  9. Lame that Cia & Lana’s alternate outfits are the freaking same with only different colored crystals to set them apart. I was at least hoping Lana’s outfit would be something similar to Cia’s basic outfit.

    1. Oh well! I can’t wait to use Epona & I look forward to the new story segments added to Legend mode. I hate how the Legend mode is so short. I’d rather everything unlocked in Adventure Mode was stuff unlocked in Legend Mode, with a much longer story. Sadly, Adventure Mode is fucking longer than legend mode. I HATE it when an extra mode is fucking longer than the main story mode. Thankfully, it’s the only thing that sucks about Hyrule Warriors.

      1. She’s already busty like Cia. You just don’t see it because Lana’s outfit is supposed to be the opposite of Cia’s.
