Nintendo UK Launches Kids Club Website And Nintendo Extra Online Magazine

Nintendo UK has launched two new online sites today for fans of all ages. Targeted at youngsters, the Nintendo Kids Club will offer the chance to interact with fan-favourite characters such as Mario and Luigi in new games and puzzles, such as Match-Up Mario and Luigi’s Word Jumble, along with themed artworks, trivia and the popular puppet-based video series, The Cat Mario Show. The new kids club looks set to mirror the goals of the Nintendo Girls Club, the YouTube channel featuring Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter which launched back in February.

Aside from a new website for kids, the regional branch has also revealed Nintendo Extra – a brand new online magazine for fans. While it may not be the magazine substitute UK fans wanted following the closure of the Official Nintendo Magazine last month, it still offers a snapshot of the company that’s packed with games trivia, pointers from game producers such as Zelda’s Eiji Aonuma, and much more.

Nintendo UK says there are more issues tucked away in the pipeline, but you can view the first issue for Nintendo Extra at the website, here. And if you’d like to take a peek at the Nintendo Kids Club, you can do so by following the link, here.

      1. to be fair, those games you are refering to are very well marketed hence why they are so popular.

The global marketng is very well executed cause let’s face it, it’s not just a UK thing. In Europe we like our football (if you live US I mean the real football you play with your feet not that one which is kind of rugby with protection gears) in the first place so you put a football simulation game with decent marketing and you sell millions.

To go back to the topic, we know the teens and adult are the main audience for the video games industry and I think nintendo got it wrong (kids club!!!!) so hence why they do not sell as much as the competition.

Before you start please I don’t say nintendo should do trash game but they need to appeal to the most popular audience (male 25-49 yo).

        1. No. Deception of what developers wanna make believe that it the game they’re expecting when its not upon release (like Destiny) plus the stupidity of people are at an all time high everywhere.

          1. don’t want to be funny but when you say: “Deception of what developers wanna make believe that it the game they’re expecting when its not upon release (like Destiny) plus the stupidity of people are at an all time high everywhere.”

But that’s a very good marketing, do you believe in the ads which tell you that product A wash better than anything else and make your clothes more news than brand new? I would think you don’t but some people will.

On the other hand I do agree with you that the mass who like COD or FIFA or NBA or NFL do not push for more quality game and developper get away with that.

The developper give to the mass what they want. Despite Nintendo is powerfull enough to propose a good alternative, they are weak at marketing their product and don’t aim at the right audience (at least that my opinion).

            1. Nintendo over Wii U marketing does need work but the reason why people keep buying the same crap from 3rd parties is because they lack the healthy mental capacity to realize they’re being constantly conned right under there noses.
