Pokken Tournament Will Feature A Water Stage, Support Pokemon And Alternative Fighter Colours

Bandai Namco has begun location testing this weekend in Japanese arcades for its latest fighting game, Pokken Tournament. Following hands-on time with the arcade game, a number of new details have emerged – including two new stages, support Pokemon and alternative colour schemes for fighters.

Earlier this week, publisher and developer Bandai Namco unearthed new screenshots of the game which gave us a better look at newly announced Pokemon such as Suicune, Pikachu and Gardevoir. Though it wasn’t until the company launched the official Pokken Tournament website that a couple of new support Pokemon were revealed.

Both Frogadier and Eevee join the game to support players during fights, the former chooses “water pulse” for aid in a tight spot while Eevee quite literally lends a “helping hand” to boost your attack power and restore health. Savvy Pokemon fans may have noticed other support Pokemon shown in the screenshots, which included Emolga, Fennekin, Lapras and Snivy.

Aside from support Pokemon, Bandai Namco revealed two new stages. The scan below shows a new fighting ring, while the image following showcases a new water stage with legendary Pokemon Lugia in the background. Location tests also confirmed the ability to switch playable Pokemon such as Lucario and Suicune to alternative colour schemes and the arcade controller system.
