Guitar Hero is back and is headed to the Wii U thanks to Activision. The latest Guitar Hero game is titled Guitar Hero Live which is played in a first person perspective. The game is developed by Freestyle Games who were the team behind DJ Hero and will be arriving this fall. Be sure to check the trailer above.

I was pleased to see this come to the Wii U. Lack of backwards compatibility with old peripherals though is a real killer for me. I don’t really like what they’ve done at all actually, but at least they’ve tried something different! We’ll see how it develops.

Like I said I’ve never been a big fan of the Guitar Hero series nor Rock Band but since it’s coming to the Wii U I really think Harmonix will do a 180 and end up porting Rock Band to the Wii U. Either way I could care less to be honest. Both games don’t appeal to me but I may end up buying Guitar Hero Live for my wife since she likes the series for some odd reason lol
They never said Rock Band isn’t coming to Wii U though. They’re just focusing on the PS4 and Xbox One currently because they’re self-publishing. It’s an indie venture this time. Small team and limited resources.
