Respected tech publication Digital Foundry has gone hands-on with Shin’en’s impressive FAST Racing NEO and as you would expect they have come away fairly dazzled with the finished product. They praise both the visuals and the blisteringly fast frame rate. The only thing that they have taken issue with is the resolution, but other than that it’s all good!
When you put everything together the end results are simply fantastic in motion. It’s an impressive looking racer here with a blistering frame-rate and beautiful visual design. With a resolution upgrade, it would look just as fresh on PS4 or Xbox One and holds up well despite running on less powerful hardware. Still, as incredible as it looks, the low resolution sticks out as a blemish on an otherwise great package. How much this impacts your experience is going to vary from person to person, but if you can look beyond that, there is a lot of impressive tech behind the scenes.
The resolution looks good to me and will play xcx when I wake up if I go to sleep

I noticed the resolution at once. Not that big of a deal, but you become pretty aware of it when the “track preview intro” shows off.
Yep, I also noticed the low resolution. S game like this needs framerates and response to be solid, so I assume the resolution had to be sacrificed. Ashame but I blame the hardware, not the devs. Still a great racer. I haven’t been online yet… I’m kinda worried to given the article posted here about the glitches.
I’ve done a few online races- I only crashed/froze once and even then I was just spectating while waiting for the next race. Either I’m lucky, or these glitches do not occur as much as we are led to believe.
