Nintendo Made The Expert Mode In Super Mario Maker’s 100 Mario Challenge Easier

If you had difficulty completing Expert mode, in Super Mario Maker‘s 100-Mario Challenge, then you might just be able to do it now. The arrival of Super Expert mode has separated levels with a >2% completion rate from the levels in Expert mode, which have a <5% completion rate. Previously, both were included in Expert, which resulted in levels that included kaizo, puzzle, and death trap designs to be selected more common.

With Super Expert’s inclusion, Expert’s difficulty has decreased slightly. You will now see those levels less often. So, if you have given up on your attempts to complete Expert mode, then this is a good time to try again.

      1. I don’t think lowering the difficulty level will get rid of Kaizo levels, though. If that’s what they want to achieve, they need to work on their system.
Lowering the difficulty level will just make the game mode as a whole easier.

      1. With the way the system of Mario Maker works, that actually is not the case. Considering the difficulty of a level is determined by completion rate, Kaizo levels will be considered “expert levels” by the system. The way I see it, lowering the difficulty is not an effective way of getting rid of Kaizo levels in playlists. It’s just a way of making the game easier in general.

  2. Kinda made both modes worse though. Super expert took all the supergood and the supershit levels which makes it an extreme gamble. Expert on the other hand became pretty easy now.

  3. Huh. This might make Expert Mode passable now- I hate when I’m getting levels that are a fair challenge and then I lose 50 lives on a stage that requires surgery-level precision to get through the whole thing.
