Following recent rumours regarding another delay on Mighty No. 9‘s release date, an official communication has confirmed that the game will be arriving to the Wii U, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 21 for North America, and June 24 for the rest of the world. This release date is said to be set in stone, with no further delays.
Here is said communication from the title’s creator, Keiji Inafune, which also apologises for the previous delays:
“To all of our backers and fans of Mighty No. 9,
Firstly, I would like to say again how sincerely sorry we are for how long we have kept all of our fans waiting. We are finally able to deliver some long awaited news regarding Mighty No. 9. We have now confirmed the following release dates for Mighty No. 9: June 21st 2016 (North America & Asia) and June 24th 2016 (World Wide). We understand that as a result of the various delays we have disappointed and let down our fans, but we are happy to finally be able to deliver the game to everyone who brought us this far.
With the game having “gone gold” we are in the last final stages of being able to deliver it into your hands, be that via your favorite retail outlet, or via digital channels.
Therefore the release date we are announcing is set in stone and there will be no further delays for the game.
Portable versions for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS will follow at a later point.
It has been almost three years since the start of our Kickstarter campaign, which was only made possible through the support of our backers and fans around the world. This is a project where everyone’s passions were combined in order to create something very special, and we are looking forward to delivering the final product to everyone who was involved. There can be no stronger connection between game creators and game fans.
Now that the dust has settled, we will be delivering Mighty No. 9 to everyone next month. How long will it take you to clear the main story on NORMAL? How many people are going to be able to clear MANIAC mode? What is going to be the fastest record for the time attack mode? We are looking forward to seeing the community answer all of these questions for us! Make sure to let us know your feedback and thoughts on the game through our SNS channels as you play the game. Your voices are what made this game possible, and we want to continue hearing what you think so that it may influence our future endeavors.
—Keiji Inafune”
It finally seems Inafune has won the race against Aonuma.
Ok.

Wow. Somehow I never realized how common that saying is.

LOL!
LMFAO That was legitimately funny!
3 releases for the wii u in june. Mario & Sonic, Tokyo mirage session#FE, and mighty number 9.
All 3 releasing close to each other or on the same day depending on your region.
And people said that the Wii U wasn’t going to get games this year.
Well you know the internet, if you don’t like the game it doesn’t exist regardless of who else will like it.
drfraud 81 you need to play the games first lol
I am not dr. tre. I don’t even like you tube. I don’t have time to post videos. tre80 equal .380. My nickname from 20 years ago. I am older than dr. tre too.
inb4 it’s delayed to december
(Yes, I’ll be that one dude who will do the delaying jokes.)
Actually, there was another further up that also did a “inb4 it’s delayed” comment.
“Mighty No. 9 Will Launch June 21 In North America and June 24 Worldwide”, 1 minute later… “Mighty No. 9 has been delayed to a early 2017, like every game announced for 2015, but then delayed till 2016, and again for 2017” this will happen lol:D
Suuuureee….
Well now I’ll have no choice but to get this game since Zelda has been delayed to next year. As it seems this game along with Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE and Yooka-Laylee may be the last Wii U games I buy this year…….unless of course Nintendo gives a couple of new games before the year ends
Not looking forward to Jotun, The Next Penelope, Hive Jump, Rive, A.N.N.E., Slain! (hopefully), Soul Axiom (hopefully) or Hyper Light Drifter (hopefully)? I know I am.
hive jump looks neat, basically it looks like a good version of federation force lol
100% accurate description. Paste a Metroid coat over it, make it a bit more atmospheric and I’d be even more hyped for that game.
Oh yeah I almost forgot Hive Jump and Rive…I’m getting those games for sure. A.N.N.E. Jotun, The Next Penelope and Hyper Light Drifter are certainly on my radar but I don’t know about Soul Axiom though. It looks interesting but I don’t know if it’s a game I’ll keep playing. Other indie games I wanted so badly was 90’s Arcade Racer and Aqua Moto Racing Utopia but it doesn’t seem like those games are coming this year which is a shame considering how fun those titles look
The last three I mentioned are TBA as of now, just so you know. Same with Bloodstained, which neither of us mentioned.
I don’t think Yooka-Laylee is really gonna come out this year, but I don’t see that as a problem. Few delays aren’t really a problem, it’s when it gets Zelda/Mighty nº9 levels when it starts getting annoying
Okay, it seems like we got a concrete release date aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it’s delayed…… They just did it again, the game is delayed.
*Puts away class-action lawsuit papers*
This is great!
now the question is should i get this on wii u or ps4?
is this a new version of Bomberman?

This is quite possibly the final Wii U game that I might actually buy (not counting discount and bargain bin games) this year. Unless that new Paper Mario and Pikmin 4 release on the Wii U this year.
Not getting this game until I read some reviews. If it’s not mind blowingly good , I’m not spending a dime on this clusterfucked project.
I’ll just play Azure Gunvolt if I need a platform fix.
Believe it when I see it.
