Despite the final Splatfest looming on July 22nd, Nintendo has reiterated that the future of its immensely fun online shooter Splatoon is absolutely secure. The Kyoto based company told online gaming site Kotaku that Splatoon’s “general online experience and service will continue.” So there you have it, everything is still rosy with the colourful shooter!
Nintendo: Splatoon’s “General Online Experience And Service Will Continue”

yeah i already knew this but it’s great that they confirmed this..
Yeah, most of us knew… but some other parts of the internet where stupid, dumb, idiot, presumptuous, morons were bitching and assuming that the last SF was going to end all online multiplayer.
I guess the stupid concern got so exclamatory that Nintendo actually commented on it.
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. Just because its the final Splatfest doesn’t mean that they are gonna shut down the servers.
Of course it will, they wouldn’t just shut down the game knowing you can only really play it Online lol. The game is no where near old or outdated.
shut up.
Of course it will continue (for now).
It’s not like there’s anything else to do. Aside from the barren 1-player mode and a practice zone, it’s not like you can splat battle against a team of random CPU characters.
A game where every opponent is human, and internet connection is needed.
Its still concerning because the snails are the only cheap way to get rerolls. 30k simply takes way too long to obtain. On average takes around 4 hours if you include wait times and approximately 700-1000 points a match. Of course it is less if you do ranked, but if you lose you get absolutely nothing so it can potentially take just as long.
This is inaccurate @kyrushi.. @ RANK A and lvl 45, I can get 3.8 to 4,000 a Knock out it can get really fast. Not to mention any other end game player has more coins than we need to handle (i’m sitting at 2million)
Having perfect rolls can cost alot but you’re better off having different abilities mixed in or just trying to order them through other players/spyke.
I guess they needed to clarify this. Now I got to wonder how many people that own Splatoon are just a bunch of dumb, stupid casuals that don’t know how gaming works. Or are just quick to flip out on Nintendo. If anything, people should be complaining about the next Splatfest being the last all together.
The online is still pretty strong for this game, though with this being the final Splatfest I’m sure quite a few will be bored with the game and consider it the end of it. If they’re stopping support for it then it’s probably pretty likely they’re working on the successor.
