The strange Pokemon GO stories continue with one out of New Hampshire in the US. The Manchester police department made a Facebook post that announced that officers recently detected one of the more rare Pokemon characters in the booking area of police headquarters, a Charizard. The post invited those whose names appeared on a list linked to the post to be “one of the lucky ones” to come and capture the creature. In truth, the announcement was a lie. The list included the names of the more than 500 fugitives on the department’s wanted persons roundup. The post was nothing more than a trick to lure the fugitives to their headquarters. According to Sgt Eric Knight, the Pokémon Facebook post had yet to lead to an arrest. However, It has gotten more than 13,000 likes since it was posted on Saturday night.
The New Hampshire Police Used Pokémon GO To Lure Fugitives To Their Headquarters

Pokémon GO is taking over the world! Lol!
||We will rule everything, and the Xbots won’t even exist when we do…||
If this isn’t a joke, I’d done with humanity. I know American police are bad, but was it possible to be any more obvious about your intentions?
“According to Sgt Eric Knight, the Pokémon Facebook post had yet to lead to an arrest.”
It was an interesting effort, at least….
Team Rockets on the loose
I was actually expecting something like: “Pokemon Go player robbed after agreeing to trade with someone he met online”. But seeing how trading is not possible yet I guess it’s more than a possibility.
HAHAHAHA Why does this sound like a plan from a Scooby Doo cartoon?
“And I would’ve gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling Pokemon GO playing cops.”
It probably looked good on paper, but…
I just can’t understand the appeal of Pokemon Go. I never even cared about the AR functionality in the 3DS. It just seemed like it was for little kids to me.
You won’t understand unless you try it.
Does really no one understand the true objective of this action? Of course they understand that the fugitives themselves are not going to the police station, but they know posts like this get globally noticed like on this very website. It happens very often that people in the fugitives environment don’t know of the fugitive status they have, and posts like this try to reach those people…
Unless the fugitives they are after are idiots or don’t know they are even a fugitive for whatever weird reason (how exactly do you not know you are a fugitive? you have to be stupid, too, if you don’t,) why did they ever think this would work? It’s at a police station and it was posted by the police themselves. You’d have to be part of the World’s Dumbest Criminals Ever to fall for this.
it’s funny that even the police are playing poke’mon to capture the bad guys.
Unless the wanted Assilants are drug”solvent” abusers, child moleters etc. Then this plan of action although ridiculously hilarious does have some significant merit to it’s madness.
I guess the police were just trying to “catch them all?”

This story is both clever and humorous! It’s fascinating to see how creative tactics like this can generate such widespread attention. While this approach may not have resulted in any arrests, it does highlight how innovative methods can be used in law enforcement. If you’re interested in exploring more conventional tools for background checks or arrest information, resources like Criminal History can be valuable. It’ll be interesting to see if similar unconventional strategies are employed in the future!
