Even though Bethesda’s Skyrim was shown in the Nintendo Switch reveal video, Bethesda have advised that they have are not confirming any specific titles for Nintendo’s new console at this time. The publisher told Gamesindustry.biz today that it’s not officially confirming the game just yet.
“We’re happy to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Nintendo on the video. While we are not confirming any specific titles at this time, we are pleased to announce our partnership with Nintendo and support of the Switch. We look forward to revealing specific games and details in the future,”
Skyrim Remastered is due to arrive on the Ps4, Xbox One and PC this month, so hopefully we could see a release of the title at a later date on the Nintendo Switch.

At least there is a strong possibility to see Bethesda make an official confirmation to see this Skyrim title coming to the Nintendo Switch. Thank you for sharing this news, Natalie.
||If they do not confirm it during the main event in the near future then tthe Bethesdians truly are what I’ve always defined them as, Xbot allies…||
Dude you are such a dope, like first off xbox is awesome, second you are clearly not a gamer, like settle down, i play all systems and games. Bethesda by the way focuses on pc not xbox, like everyone knows that. If nintendo cant get third party support its the last time they have a chance. If it dont happen this time then they well go third party. Its riding on Nintendo, not bethesda.
||I am not interested in your Xbot words and anyone that likes them are corrupted, period…||
||And clearly you know nothing about Nintendo either which makes you totally irrelevant by default…||
Your so small minded and clueless
That’s PR bullcrap. Why would you optimize a game enough to have it running on a system, if the game isn’t coming to that system? This is like the Dragon Quest 11 reveal by Square Enix. Its all PR.
NDA? I don’t know.
Why do you instantly believe that it ANY of the games were actually running on Nintendo hardware and not just rendered in videos to make it appear to be running them
This is exactly what I was thinking. Why show it if it isn’t on there? I know about tech demos but it was part of the actual trailer.
There’s a HUGE difference between a tech demo and showing a real game. It would make Nintendo and Bethesda look terrible if this game doesn’t come to the Switch.
Lol, that was prerecorded video overlaid in post production, none of that was gameplay on the switch.
Makes me wonder if what they had on the trailer was a working version or a different device/just a video over the screen
Lol what?
That’s just stupid. If you don’t want to confirm it why fucking show it?
wow im is snock i cant belev dunb bestedh
||If your partnership is only limited to your words then you can just get lost…||
I heard of Skyrim but I never play it before :/
i hear its really good, if its on the switch (like its real mystery) im going to buy it because i want 3rd parties to do good on a nintendo console
so you want it to be better then you hope?
?
what?
i dont get what you are trying to say
nevermind
Its amazing
really?
Absolutely. Probably one of the top 25 games ever made
I don’t know about that. Skyrim’s a very good game (definitely worth playing), but personally I think it’s a tad overrated.
Oh well, we have games that we considered overrated, like Dark Souls and Overwatch for me
mmm you know what my friend your right.
Very
Yeah, there’s no way that Nintendo would show Skyrim in the trailer working on the Switch and everything if the game wasn’t actually coming to the system. That’d be kinda dumb if that was the case.
Well it wouldn’t be the first bait and switch, especially from Nintendo. They have used “fake” games in their trailers before.
Like what? I’m legitimately curious. I don’t believe you, but I’m definitely not saying you’re wrong because I just don’t know.
Battlefield 4 on Wii U…
Technically we know that was the EA breakup at fault for that one. This is much closer to launch then when Battlefield was announced.
Battlefield 4 was announced when the Wii U was revealed, a whole year away from launch.
For Switch, it’s 5 months till launch. Who knows, they can just not bring the game at all.
While it could happen its extremely unlikely. Battlefield left because of a disagreement and the sales had EA justify the decision but it would have come if Nintendo had “bent down” for them (so to speak). Nintendo also said the lineup they showed here were 360 and PS3 footage.

I think the betrayal by EA is partially why they held it off for so long. While the fault is mainly on the developer and publisher you shouldn’t promise or show games that aren’t going to make it. In this case Nintendo allowed Skyrim to be shown as part of the first trailer showing what the system can do. Its one step shy of false advertising if it doesn’t get on Switch.
I feel like Skyrim Remastered was just shown so they could represent third-party.
It’s absolutely going to the Switch. Bethesda isn’t going screw with people like that
Well this is disappointing. If they’re gonna pull off an EA announce games that will never be on said console, then they’ll just lose trust from Nintendo fans.
I doubt they’re gonna pull an EA. I have trust in them, and they make excellent games, abliet ones that are glitchy
Hopefully. Bethesda seems a lot more trustworthy than EA, but still, if they’re gonna show off a game on a new system and never release it is just a dick move.
I feel like they’re just saying that in the event the Switch goes belly-up (of which there still is a strong possibility, despite how awesome it is).
Better to be wrong about something that turns out well, than to be wrong about something that turns out horribly.
Well this is awkward.
I mean, we already havery Zelder Scrolls, so Skyrim did feel kinda… redundant.
Still, I hope it makes it regardless.
It and fallout totally coming, be the reason they did not anounce anything is because they did not want to distract from the remastered game coming out for other systems next month. Additionally they are probably talking mod support and how that well work
Bro, you write good comments all the time. But one thing I notice you do is write “well” instead of “will” and vice versa. Not trying to be a grammar freak, just trying to help.
Hummm
This is pretty dumb but hopefully Skyrim being in the video means Bethesda is bringing more recent or upcoming games to the Switch
something doesn’t sound right.
Pingback: Nintendo Switch | Apesar de estar no vídeo de revelação, Skyrim é incerto para o Switch – Nintendista
Nor any other game shown was confirmed, except BOTW.
IGN did asked some developers/publishers and they all responded with conspicuously similar PR responses that “we don’t have anything to announce, please understand”.
Sounds like that NDA are still in place.

Translation: “It’s coming but we want to announce it on our own time.”
This is practically the same thing Square Enix kept saying to avoid the topic whenever Dragon Quest XI came up.
Are people so stupid? Or is it just trolls that want it to be true because they hate Nintendo? If the damn game was shown in the fucking video it’s because Skyrimmwill be there, the remaster thing or a new game. Maybe the PR person can’t say anything more. It’s like if you asked Nintendo if the Splatoon thing is a new game or an update and they say they can’t announce anything and just enjoy the video. So, does that mean that Splatoon and Mario Kart were lies in the video? No. It’s coming, but they just wanted to tease those things in the trailer and no one can talk about anything else because the details are being saved for the Direct coming with all the info. She just said that because the details are kept secret for a Direct, and right now they just wanted to tease stuff in the trailer. This is just people making up consoiracy theories or being too stupid.
OH THIS WOULD BE SOOoOo F’d up! I already love Skyrim, but it being on the new Nintendo console would be gnarly.
I just hope it is not the case of old and gimped ports for full retail price again, because that sure worked wonders the last time.
Is Skyrim only a first person game? Because if it is, there’s no way I could ever like it.
There’s a third person mode
That’s cool. : )
There’s a reason they didn’t officially announce it for the NS, they want to make sure that they sell as many ps4/pc/xb1 versions as possible when it releases, and there are plenty of people who will hold off on buying it in order to get the NS portable version. My question is will the NS version support mods and how many mods will it support at one time if it does?
While they cannot confirm it, it would be blatant false advertising to have it appear in the reveal video and not have it being developed for the system. The only way they could get away with it is if they publicly announce they’ve cancelled the game for NS at some point. But to have it in the reveal video and not be developing it for NS at all would be false advertising.
As others have stated, this is false marketing, from both Nintendo AND Bethesda, if Skyrim Remastered doesn’t pop up on Switch. If this game doesn’t come, both them & Nintendo will have effectively lied to everyone’s face with that trailer which would not do the Switch any favors. That or they told Nintendo one thing & are planning to do the opposite to fuck over the Switch. Kind of like how EA didn’t do the Wii U any favors in 2013 with some of the bullshit they pulled. If this was just a rumor being stated by second hand journalists on the net, I’d chalk it up to “I’ll believe this when Bethesda says something.” Sadly, they ARE the ones saying this. If it’s an NDA issue, it’s just as stupid. Why show clips of a game in the Switch trailer if they can’t even confirm it after people noticed it in the damn trailer!?
Either way, someone better clear this mess up before one or both of these guys get called out for being filthy liars & thus damage the Switch’s standing before it’s even released.
