Take-Two Happy About Working On Switch’s Reveal Video – Specific Titles To Be Announced At A Later Date

Take-Two’s president Karl Slatoff has spoken about Nintendo’s new console, the Switch, in the company’s recent financial results call.

Take-Two owns Rockstar Games and 2K Games, and are well known for series such as Grand Theft Auto, Bioshock, NBA 2K, Midnight Club and Max Payne.

Slatoff expressed that their company are happy to have had the opportunity to work with Nintendo on their reveal video for the Switch, and also advised that they will look forward to revealing specific games at a later date.

“We’re happy that Take-two had the opportunity to collaborate with Nintendo on their first look video on Nintendo Switch which was revealed last month and will launch in March 2017. While we’re not confirming any specific titles this time, we’re pleased to announce our partnership with Nintendo, and support of the Nintendo Switch. We look forward to revealing specific games and details at a later date.”

Hopefully we will hear more news on this in the new year, once further details of the Switch are announced.

      1. You’d be surprised how many people would be more open to getting a Switch if it had a WWE game on it.

        1. I dont think it could hurt, but you really want to put your best foot forward at launch, and I feel like a lot of critics would use it as an example of poor 3rd party support. “All you could get for 3rd party at launch is a wee game? really?” Something like that…

          1. You know people could say the exact same thing about Zelda: Breath of the Wild, right? Which, sadly, is the only game we know for a fact is going to be a Switch launch title right now.

  1. No mention of the WWE games they do? Yes! It’s a shocker! EA doesn’t have rights to every single sports game in existence!

Anyway, the games they mentioned being on the Switch will go a long way! ESPECIALLY GTA, Bioshock, NBA 2k & WWE 2k games! Speaking of, since I’ve been playing WWE 2k17 for the last few weeks on my awesome PS4, maybe I should finally open up my copy of GTA5 and start playing that! No. I still haven’t finished Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster (stopped playing it a few weeks ago after clearing Chapter 2.)

    1. Agreed. GTA VI on the Switch will guarantee it gets constant 3rd party support or at least it should

  2. I love how Take-Two is giving Nintendo constant praise while guaranteeing support fot the Switch but I hope this translates to them bringing their AAA titles to the system and not shovelware. If Red Dead Redemption 2 & GTA VI come to the Switch expect for it get SNES 3rd party support because Take-Two are among the biggest and most respected 3rd party publishers/developers in the world. I think the Switch’s 3rd party support future relies on how Take-Two will support it. I’m hoping for nothing but the best for Nintendo and the Switch….hopefully that’s the same outlook that Take-Two has in mind

      1. Ubisoft is too. They’ve still been supporting Nintendo with some games like Just Dance, but Nintendo hasn’t convinced them to bring their bigger titles.

      2. That’s true but when those companies (except for Bethesda of course) supported the Wii U the other big 3rd party publishers/developers didn’t follow suit. Bethesda nor Take Two brought any of their big titles to the Wii U (well Take Two did with NBA 2K13). My point is if a company like Take-Two who has the biggest and best selling 3rd party franchise gaming franchise in the GTA series and if they decide to bring it to the Switch then other major 3rd parties will be more than willing to bring their AAA titles over as well

  3. “Games”. Not just “a game”. I like the sound of “games” . Now let’s just hope the Switch can handle anything that gets thrown it’s way and not have watered down games with missing content and features. I’m putting my faith in Switch and putting off getting Skyrim because I’m hoping it’ll be as good as the PS4 version as far as having all the content. I know it won’t do 4K but 1080p is good enough for me :)

      1. I respect your loyalty, but that’s not really a good idea. I’d have liked the Wii U much more had I not been so quick to get it. I won’t soon forget those droughts that left an awful taste in my mouth and nearly made me give up being a Nintendo fan.

        1. To each their own. The WiiU has been my favorite console this gen, as I’ve found playing any 3rd party games on PC more enjoyable than on ps4 (due to performance alone). But, even then, the offerings from 3rd parties this gen have been very disappointing overall for me, which keeps me coming back to Ninty’s exclusives.
Aside from Bloodborne and Ratchet and Clank, I feel like my ps4 is nothing more than a dedicated Kingdom Hearts machine. You know.. once KH2.8 and KH3 release.

The droughts definitely sucked, and games like Ultra Smash and Amiibo Festival were just pitiful. But games like Xenoblade, Smash Bros, MarioKart 8, and Splatoon have been the highlights of this console generation for me. I’ll be picking up the Switch for that reason alone. And of course being able to play Zelda:BotW anywhere I go will be amazing.

Also, I’m not condemning your opinion or anything. Just giving an alternate perspective on it lol. So I hope this didn’t sound rude.

          1. I guess you didn’t hear. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is coming to the PS4 in March. :D It will have (this is copied straight from Amazon’s webpage for the game) KINGDOM HEARTS Final Mix, KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories, KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days, KINGDOM HEARTS II Final Mix, KINGDOM HEARTS Birth by Sleep Final Mix, & KINGDOM HEARTS Re:coded.

            1. I didn’t hear that. I’ll be picking that up too then. 😁 Is that all on a single disc or are both games coming seperately? Either way.. I can’t get enough of Kingdom Hearts haha.

              1. That’s a good question! If every one of those games will be in HD & with PS3/PS4 graphics, I’d be surprised if they can fit them all on one disc. It doesn’t matter for me, though, since I’ll be getting it digitally, along with every other Kingdom Hearts game I get on my PS4. Games that great need not ever be sold so no physical buy for me.

          2. The majority of the time that I owned a Wii U, it was the only console I had. Which is why I view it that way. It’s not as bad if you have multiple different systems to play on because you can actually play other games that never come to Nintendo consoles.
