Silicon Studio today confirmed that they will be offering tech support for the Nintendo Switch. Silicon Studio is a Japanese computer graphics technology company and video game developer based in Tokyo. Although they were touted as an official partner last year and announced in October, we can now report how they’ll be helping with software development for Nintendo’s new console.
The postscript middleware YEBIS, the all-in-one game engine OROCHI which has over 40 dev tools. Also being released is the next-gen game engine Xenko which will be out in April. All of these tools will all be made compatible with the platform. With the combined technology and knowhow of both companies, Silicon Studio and Nintendo, they hope to provide a new environment that will allow makers to create high-quality games in the future with ease as part of this new business opportunity.
If I’m not mistaken, Silicon Studios worked on Bravely Default. Looking forward to whatever’s in the works for Switch!
Now i dont feel alone in the world 😀

Too bad that awesome fight scene was so damn fucking short! In fact, it should have been at least 7-10 minutes long. Of course, I guess I can kinda understand since Chris & Claire are normal human beings while Wesker is a weaker version of fucking Superman! xD
It seems that Unreal Engine 4 (4.15) and Unity wouldn’t be the only two middleware engines supporting the Nintendo Switch. I would LOVE to see Silicon Studio present a game for the Switch using their engines (hopefully it’s Project Octopath Traveler).
It should also be pretty easy to port the cry engine….. That’s if Crytek has gotten over their financial issues
It’s an engine used by Square-Enix (World of Final Fantasy). I have no doubt that they are cooking more things than those announced for us.
If this means more Square Enix games for Switch, awesome. Maybe we’ll see Bravely Third on Switch with HD ports of the first two from 3DS.
