The other day we reported that a new Kickstarter campaign for a game called Project Rap Rabbit had a relatively high stretch goal for the Nintendo Switch. The teams behind the title, iNiS and NanaOn-Sha, had originally placed it at $5,000,000 for it to become a reality on Nintendo’s newest console. Due to public feedback, the developers were quick to release a statement regarding the steep goal saying:
“Over the last 24 hours we’ve been taking the time to digest all your comments, wishes and feedback, and one request stands out above all others: a significantly lower Nintendo Switch goal,” an update on the project’s Kickstarter page reads. “We want to let you know that we hear you loud and clear. As a result, we are busy re-examining our Stretch Goal format to prioritize a Nintendo Switch version of Project Rap Rabbit above other features.”
They then swiftly decided it was a good idea to lower said goal to $1,500,000. An early bird tier has been added too.
More like due to backlash 😉
Backlash? WWE’s PPV this Sunday is called Backlash. WWE 2k18 confirmed for Switch! (I probably did that meme wrong but whatever.)
I have a gut feeling that the funding is gonna fail… HARD!!!! How the heck are they gonna back $1.5 million?!
However, I’m wrong. I think it will reach the $1.5 million stretch goal for this project to be available to Nintendo Switch as well as PC and Sony systems.
I would like to support it but I only want it on switch. I’ll wait and see if it looks like it’s gna happen lol
Wow, glad they listened. Ill glady support this. But will have to look more into the whole kickstarter thing. Thanks for the update man!
So feedback DOES infuence developers to change how they handle their IPs.
Throw an amount in the air and see if people are gullible enough to pay it in droves. Sorry but anyone whose economics are like this – or who unscrupulously fleece people out of money to make a profit – I don’t trust them with any money, to deliver what they say they will. Do the maths, provide sound justification for what you’re asking. Then I’ll think about it
Good to see. It was pretty ridiculous to say that porting the game to the Switch would cost an additional 4 million dollars.
Another Kickstarter scam attempt! I wonder what they needed the additional 3.5 mill for. Hookers and booze?
Booze is cheap. More like hookers and blow.
