Nintendo Discusses The Tingle Outfit In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild DLC

One day closer to the release of The Master Trials DLC Pack for Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and we have some more information from Nintendo about what’s included. Yesterday it was all about Midna’s helmet but today we get an insight into (one of my favourite things about the DLC) – the Tingle outfit.

Shirakawa, one of the game designers, who worked mainly on NPC and field-event designs, talks about his love/hate relationship with Tingle, where he first appeared and what benefits you experience when running around in a Tingle costume:

When I started thinking about it, I realized that sometimes hate can slowly turn into love.

Tingle first appeared in the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask game for the Nintendo 64™ console, and he has since appeared in a variety of other games. He became popular (?) enough to star as the main character in some games (originally launched in Japan and Europe).

When you wear all 3 pieces of Tingle’s Outfit together, they grant you the “Night Speed-Up” effect. So please try on Tingle’s Oufit and run around at night.

You can read the whole feature here.

I’d love to be able to dye the Soldier Gear’s armor pieces into gold since the actual dye colors for the set only really change the color of the clothes underneath the armor. Only the black & white dyes actually change the armor’s coloring.

I really, really want some gold armor in the game!

Lame. The Sheikah gear set & the Dark Link gear set both already include a night time movement speed boost. It would have made more sense to allow you to move faster during the DAY instead of night. It honestly doesn’t fit Tingle’s character. (And this is coming from someone who utterly HATES Tingle!)

Sadly, they have that one feature for the map that shows everywhere you’ve been in the last 200 hours, so they probably didn’t see the need for Tingle’s outfit to do such a thing.

Considering we had to fight the little turd for shit in Four Swords Adventures & had to pay outrageous prices to translate the Triforce Charts, this actually does make a lot more sense than night time speed up and day time speed up.
