Splatoon 2 has been out for a few days now, and sales are now beginning to come out on how well it has done. In Japan, Famitsu is reporting that the game has sold 670,955 physical copies in just the first few days of the game’s release. This means that Splatoon 2 has had the biggest debut for a Switch title and even Japan’s highest selling Switch title to date. To compare, Splatoon 1 sold only 156,610 physical copies in Japan within the first four days of its release on the Wii U.
Splatoon 2 is amazing. I’m so addicted to its satisfying gameplay. It’s the most fun I’ve had in an online game since…Halo 3, or Helldivers. All it needs is splitscreen.. ahhh
wow i predicted that it would sell 400k what the heck splatoon 2 u are a monster
That’s ok. I grossly underestimated it. I was thinking 250k, based on the sales of the first one and the limited number of Switches that’ve been sold. Lol
Wow, I understand, it’s a great game!

“Nintendo SwitchFinancial Results

13.6 million Switch games sold, too”
Very good.
and:
Breath of the Wild: 3.92 million
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 3.54 million
1-2 Switch: 1.22 million
ARMS: 1.18 million
yep
ARMS it’s over 1 million, its future is safe. :phew:
Though I can’t truly judge it (since I didn’t play the original for more than a few minutes), I’m always left scratching my head in confusion over the popularity of Splatoon. In much the same way that super soaker water guns make me feel in real life. Does this game have a better single player mode, or is it still just centered on multi-player?
It has single player but it is still centered for multiplayer. Now hurry up and buy so I can play against you later.
And me too I want to play against all of you.
It’s a fun multiplayer experience for many people.
The multiplayer is the main meat of the package. The reason it is so popular is because it is oh-so-satisfying to play. It controls well, has great pacing, and is rather addicting. I wondered the same things as you, but then I bought Splatoon 2, and I understood its popularity almost instantly.
My active friend list went from an average of 5-6 people online at a time to an average of 15-20 online, with the majority of people playing Splatoon 2. Good times!
Yuge! Nintendo needs to get their shipments in order, though.
That’s fast.
