L.A Noire Will Be $10 More On Nintendo Switch

Rockstar’s very own website has confirmed what some had feared, and that’s that the Nintendo Switch version of L.A Noire will be priced $10 higher than the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. There’s no explanation yet from Rockstar regarding why it’s priced higher than the other versions, but it does seem to be becoming a trend.

  1. Are they trying to Sabotage the game? History is repeating itself again, come the fuck on, the game won’t even use PS4/Juan assets

  2. Now that I read more of the issue, it seems the price hike is because the game will use a 32Gb card, which is more expensive than Blue Ray, remember guys, the Xbox 360 had 3 DISK for the game, it all makes sense now.

  3. They finally release a game on a Nintendo system for the first time in a long time, and then they partially sabotage it? I understand, manufacturing costs are a bit higher for Switch cartridges at the moment (and obviously there was more work put into this version than just a simple graphics upgrade + VR), but this is going to hurt sales. $10 can make a difference on whether or not people buy your game (*cough* Ultra Street Fighter 2 *cough*).

    1. This is due to a deal between game console companies and brick and mortar stores. Brick and mortar stores know that less cost is involved with digital sales. So the price can be cheaper. So digital store fronts can beat the brick and mortar price every time. Brick and mortar stores can’t lower the price too much or they would lose money due to production cost transportation cost ect. So they threaten to not carry the console of a company if they don’t allow the price of games to be the same in order to make it fair. You can’t download the console. So gaming companies agree to rule. Occasionally you’ll see a digital game come in cheaper but on the whole it will be the same entry price as physical. (until it gets older).

    2. Probably because then retailers would complain that there’s no point in them stocking the Switch version (of this and any other game with this issue) if Nintendo is gonna cut their sales short by offering it cheaper on their own digital platform from day 1 which would damage Nintendo’s relationships with their retail partners which could result in retailers allotting Nintendo less shelf space, etc. and that would hurt all their physical sales (games, amiibo, etc. ) revenue.

  5. Looks like the attack rate for the Nintendo Switch is going to suffer like with the N64. That console had the worst attach rate for Nintendo (without considering handhelds). Luckily first party games are priced as usual, but it’s going to hurt third parties in the long run.

    1. What? The attach rate for third party games on Switch has been stellar so far, what are you talking about, going to suffer? There’s 6 months of data you could research you know, instead of this knee jerk reaction and comment.

      1. But are you a normal or are really that out of the world? Attachment for the Switch is 1.94 as far as I know (Nintendo games included). If you have other data you can share it. It’s very low, while understandable since that console is almost new. Still software sales aren’t high at all for now AND those that are making that figure less dry are Nintendo games.
        Anyway I will appreciate if you just skip my comments, you aren’t the type of person I would be happy to talk with, very impolite.

  8. King Kalas X3 {I only buy exclusives that interest me on Switch. For everything else that interests me, there is PS4.}

    Didn’t they mention LA Noire will take advantage of the Switch’s unique controllers’ functions like HD Rumble & that you can even use the touch screen for stuff if you undock it? If true, I can honestly see why it’s gonna be 10 dollars more since the Switch isn’t getting just some direct port while the other systems are with only updated graphics. If so, better get use to the idea of paying more for some, if not most, Switch ports, guys.
