An excerpt from an old Nintendo Power interview recently surfaced online, revealing the reason behind why Wario and Waluigi have no girlfriends. It turns out that this is because Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto apparently didn’t want to imagine what they would look like on paper. At least they’re telling us why they don’t have girlfriends as opposed to “Why they don’t have girlfriends” if you know what I mean.
Mona, captain syrup, and princess shokara are there for wario… Kinda queen merilda too… But he threw her aside for her money.
Waluigi I have no idea about…. He tells me he is interested in daisy. But she constantly declines his confessions. (Noted in a Mario party game *there team names*)

You can play as Wario in Super Mario 64 DS. And I’m pretty sure Wario has more self titled games than Peach, Toad, or Luigi. The Wario Land games were my favorite on the Game Boy, Wario World on the GC and Wario Master of Disguise on the DS weren’t awful.

Wario appeared in Super Mario Land 2. He stole Mario’s castle (yes he apparently has a castle) while Mario was away. And appeared as the final boss.
And in Wario Land he reconquered it.
Wario is playable in Super Mario 64 DS, too. Wario is in a lot of games, it’s Waluigi who deserves the love most. Honestly, if they made a Wario & Waluigi RPG where you’re the “bad guy” so-to-speak, that would be really fun.
Wario does not live in the mushroom kingdom I believe.

I know what games they’ve appeared in or stared in. I can’t elaborate cuz I’m painting ATM but basically take Super Mario 3D World and build an adventure around that setting for Wario and Waluigi. Instead of stompin on Goombas you could stomp on Roads. It wouldn’t be hard to achieve.

It would be nice to see other Super Mario characters appear in the games with Mario & Luigi. Instead, it’s always the same ones: Mario, Peach, Bowser, Kid Bowser, & sometimes Luigi. Luigi is practically in the same boat as Daisy, Wario, & others.

Wario and Waluigi don’t even need girlfriends. They’re anti-villains.
And rather than create yet another add-on character,
Mario > Wario,
Mario > Luigi > Waluigi
Peach > Wapeach?
Peach > Daisy > Wadaisy!? (Waluigi’s girlfriend)
They should utilize and flesh out other underrated characters, such as Captain Syrup. Not only is she a semi-major staple in the Wario Land series, her role actually meshes well with Wario’s, while other girls that appeared in Wario Land were just random princesses.
Or else all we’re left with is just Mario (the only playable character), the optional via co-op Luigi, damsel Peach, Bowser, 7 similar Koopa kids, Bowser’s favorite kid, and the slew of killable stage enemies that are barely characters (but somehow make in party/sports game rosters).
Sorry bois, no Wapeach or Waisy for you
