Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition will have 13 post-game dungeons and playable character DLC

Thanks to Japanese publication Famitsu, some more details have emerged surrounding Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition which is due to release on Nintendo Switch and other platforms on 27th August. It turns out that this latest edition of the game will feature an extra challenge for those players who are looking to trawl through more dungeons after the credits roll. 13 dungeons more difficult than those found in the base game will be available while new weapons, items and armour will be up for grabs for those brave enough to take on the challenge. A quick translation from the Famitsu page states: “More powerful monsters and bosses will appear in the newly dressed dungeon.”

In addition to this post-game content, it’s also come to light that players can purchase character DLC. Although playing as a different character from the game is cosmetic only and you won’t gain any new skills or abilities, it’s a nice touch for those die-hard fans of the original to have the option.

  1. This is really cool and substantial – 13 dungeons is a hearty amount of new content.

I’m disappointed that you can’t play couch co-op, but I’m into all these extras the developers are putting into the game. CC was one of my favorite GameCube games (when you had a friend to play), so I think this is enough to warrant a purchase from me.

    1. I’m sure they couldn’t figure out how to implement couch co-op or they did but doing so would crash the game or something. Anyways I think it’s cool that they are adding more to the game. Also: ShOuLd HaVe BeEn In ThE gAmE.

  2. Fuck this remaster. I was waiting 2 years for this and they just announced it was region locked. Way to pull the rug out from under my feet, ffs.
