By now, you’ve probably heard about the return of the Advance Wars franchise. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, devloped by WayForward and published by Nintendo, had been announced at Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct. There’s not at lot of info about the game at this time, but there is one feature confirmed.

At the end of the Nintendo Treehouse Advance Wars segment, roughly 3:06:45 into the video provided below, Nintendo confirmed that the game is going to have online support for “up to four players”. On Nintendo’s official page for the game, you learn that a Nintendo Switch Online membership is needed to play a “Versus Mode”, where “up to four players can battle on dozens of maps”.

  1. I suck at these games (I still can’t beat Drake in his debut mission in the original game) but I am strongly considering getting this to show my support to fans of the series, as well as show Nintendo that maybe they shouldn’t neglect their lesser series and give them more love/chances. In fact I think this may be a way of them gauging interest in the series to see if they should put more resources into it, be it remakes of the other earlier games or a long-awaited sequel.

I also hope that they do something similar with F-Zero (if they won’t just give us a new game) and that would get the support and showing it needs and deserves.

    1. They should do something with f zero. Even a remake of gx will do.

They could easily make a new game using the same ideas and just add in some extra courses and an online mode. Voila! A great game.
      We can only hope
