Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night’s next update will add a playable character from a “well-known partner”

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for over 2 years now. Since then, the game was released on mobile devices in December of 2020, and Google Stadia in July of this year. That said, you may be surprised to hear that the game is still getting updates. And news that is related to the next update may interest you.

The game’s dev team has announced that “our next update will introduce a new playable character to the game. This is a change from our previously released roadmap. We can confirm that this new character is NOT from the world of Bloodstained. We have been working closely with a well-known partner to bring their character (and a friend) into the game”.

  1. Finally we get Waluigi!

Serious question though… does this game play well on Switch? I’ve wanted this game because it gives me Aria of Sorrow vibes but I’ve heard the performance on Switch isn’t great. Can anyone tell me if they’d patched up the issues? Is this new character update also going to have a performance patch?

        1. If you have a XBOX or PS4 you are better off finding them cheaper on those systems. Also. preferable than on the Switch. i am a huge fan of those castlevania games but felt like the Switch version of bloodstained didn’t sit well with me.

  2. I would have said a Castlevania character but my gut tells me the guest is indie-related, and I would say Shovel Knight but he is already in (albit as an enemy).
I’m gonna go with either The Penitent One from Blasphemous (makes sense since Miriam had a guest appearance there), or someone from Inti Creates or Wayforward (considering the dev team’s close ties to both companies).
