Super Mario Bros. Movie now at $1.288 billion worldwide, surpassing Frozen 1

To say that The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been successful would be a massive understatement. Even though it has been nearly 2 months since the movie premiered in theaters, it is still breaking records and reaching milestones. In fact, it has reached another milestone this weekend.

Just a little over a week after the movie surpassed The Incredibles 2’s worldwide sales, Nintendo and Illumination’s movie has now surpassed Frozen 1 in worldwide sales. It has grossed over $1,288,000,000 worldwide. The only 2 animated films that have done better are Frozen 2 and the remake of Disney’s The Lion King. They managed to get $1,450,000,000 and $1,660,000,000, respectively.
