Brazen thieves snatch 35,000 Pokémon cards in California heist

Thieves recently targeted Tofu’s Trading, a Pokémon card store in San Jose, California, making off with a staggering haul of 35,000 Pokémon Trading Cards. The daring heist also included the theft of the store’s cash register. Despite the criminals successfully evading the police in a swift operation, their timing was less than perfect. The stolen loot did not include a highly anticipated special collection set to launch just two days after the break-in.

The humorous twist to the story emerged as the store created a playful video reenacting the heist, showcasing one of the thieves deftly navigating the store floor. Tofu’s Trading, known for its good-humored response, used the situation to inject some levity into the aftermath of the break-in. Amy Simpson, the store manager, recounted the incident, stating, “We saw like three people breaking in through our side door, which was kind of ridiculous because there’s a fridge blocking it – so I don’t think it was a targeted attack at all. I don’t think they were in for a hobby necessarily because they didn’t know what to take.”

  1. Imagine being locked behind bars and another inmate ask what your doing time for.
“oh you know stealing Pokemon cards” if they had just waited 2 more days, they could have got that highly anticipated set.

  2. Aw man that sucks… it being like a local card shop makes this even more unfortunate. But the lady in the video seems to be in high spirits! Good thing they haven insurance !
