Readers of Japan’s most esteemed gaming magazine cast their ballots from June 5th to June 11 to determine which games have got everyone excited, and which have failed to generate intrigue. If you’re wondering why many high-profile, hugely-hyped games are missing from the list, it would be because the votes came in before June 18th’s meaty Nintendo Direct. The top 10 results are below, with Monster Hunter Wilds taking first place yet again, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD not far behind.
- [PS5] Monster Hunter Wilds – 747 votes
- [PS5] Pragmata – 440 votes
- [PS5] Metaphor: ReFantazio – 382 votes
- [NSW] Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – 297 votes
- [NSW] Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025 – 276 votes
- [NSW] Pokémon Legends: Z-A – 270 votes
- [PS5] Silent Hill 2 – 254 votes
- [PS5] Gundam Breaker 4 – 233 votes
- [NSW] Professor Layton and the New World of Steam – 228 votes
- [NSW] Gundam Breaker 4 – 143 votes
When taken and combined with the rest of the ranking, the top 10 most anticipated Switch games are:
- Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD
- Powerful Pro Baseball 2024-2025
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A
- Professor Layton and the New World of Steam
- Gundam Breaker 4
- Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
- Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake
- Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition
- Hokkaido Rensa Satsujin: Ohotsuku ni Kiyu
- Suikoden I & II HD Remaster
Stay tuned for the next issue’s ranking to see if the new Mario and Zelda games revealed in the Direct can usurp Monster Hunter, or if they’ll have to hold their heads down until their next chance at seizing the throne. Also, considering the popularity of series like Dragon Quest and Hello Kitty in Japan, both of which were part of the Direct, some of these other games on the list may want to enjoy the fame while they can.

I am going to play monster hunter stories with my babiez.
Currently playing Monster Hunter Stories in anticipation of Monster Hunter Wilds!
Top 3 are all PS5 games, and half of the top 10 are PS5 games.
Monster Hunter Wilds is miles out in front, and has 2 and 1/2 time the votes of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. Not surprising really as Monster Hunter Wilds is a new game, whereas Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is yet another lazy re-release by Nintendo.
I wonder how many neurons you burned while writing that word salad…considering if you have any neurons left.
odd they split game by console, or gundam breaker 4’d be way up there
thank you
Stickman Hook features a wide variety of levels, each with its unique setup. As you advance, new obstacles like moving platforms, rotating hooks, and dangerous gaps appear, requiring quick reflexes and strategic swings to avoid falling or missing hooks.
Pac-Man is a classic arcade game where you control a yellow character, eating dots while avoiding ghosts. The goal is to clear the maze and score points.
With each feathered bounce and golden coin, chicken jockey clicker pulls you deeper into a loop of upgrades, boosts, and outrageous chicken-powered momentum.
It’s interesting to see Monster Hunter Wilds dominate again, but I’m actually more hyped for the Switch titles. Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD has been on my radar for a while, and I’m really curious about Professor Layton. No Snow rider on the list, though, which is a shame, it’s pretty fun! Still, a good mix of anticipated games here.
