Liam Robertson: Lot of developers got invited to Nintendo America yesterday

Video game researching Liam Robertson has mentioned on new social network Bluesky that a number of developers descended upon Nintendo of America headquarters yesterday. These developers appear to be smaller developers and speculation is mounting online that they may have been invited to see the successor to the popular Nintendo Switch. It is not entirely clear why they were all invited, but this seems a plausible explanation.

Seems a lot of developers got invited to NoA yesterday…

  1. I don’t know where the “small developers” part came from as it’s not in Liam Robertson’s…whatever you call a tweet in Bluesky world.

If legitimately small developers are being shown Switch 2, I think we can take that to mean announcement is imminent, because Nintendo must know once they show it to small devs, it is likely to be leaked. But there’s a lot of ifs, buts and maybes in there.

    1. Yup, I saw a couple smaller companies such as Limited Run on X mention that they had been to NoA. The teams I saw on social media were smaller companies, though bigger companies could have attended I suppose 😊

  2. I’m hoping that a direct headline is coming anytime between now and tomorrow for a Thursday 19th presentation. I can feel it, would be awesome as my bday that day too.
Come on Nintendo, just do it!

    1. They should do a video reveal and a live presentation, like the ones from the Switch. A direct is pre-recorded with no live parts, while the presentation showed Koizumi interacting with the console live and built anticipation for the event.

  3. Well it seems they are getting ready to reveal the hybrid sequal, but it’s still early at this stage. I’d say until the bigger devs have seen it, then it will be our turn. I definitely believe we will see this thing by the end of October.
