We all know that media and influencers won’t be providing pre-launch reviews for the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and software and you can expect our own reviews some time after launch. That being said, IGN recently attended a hands-on session with Mario Kart World and have come away suitably impressed by the track designs, the Knockout Tour and the game’s all-important handling. While they still have some reservations about the actual open world content, they did say that some of the P-Switch challenges can be suitably challenging and aren’t all easy as some had appeared. Check out their final preview below.
IGN goes hands on with Mario Kart World for 5 hours

$80 is what you would usually pay for a deluxe edition, not the standard edition. Only Nintendo fans would pay $80 for a kart racer and be excited about it.
$50 because I bought it with my Switch 2, and Nintendo news is followed by more haters than Nintendo fans. If you’re bothered by how people spend their own money, you should get psychological help
I usually buy one or two “big” games per month. I’m pretty sure I can afford that. 👍
Seems like Nikki wasn’t able to get a preorder.
It’s ok. I didn’t either.
Nor do I.
Most people are just paying 50 though…
Yes the bundle is a nice option (if you don’t want physical and are able to find a bundle). The game costs 80 though. Hard to say if 80 is a fair without playing it, or before reviews come in. But those are the facts, it is a kart racer and it costs 80. It costs 10 more than Tears, which is a huge and impressive open world game. In my opinion, if it is more expensive than Tears then it should blow my mind, like Tears, which is a tall order for a kart racer, we’ll see.
you can race as a cow
Tears was lazy garbage, MKW is a ground up adventure built for Switch 2 and will likely go on to be the next biggest title to break records.
At least I’m not a Sony fan like you. I still don’t see any reasons to get the PS5 5 years after launch.
There are plenty of reasons to get a PS5 if you’re a real gamer. Factually no reasons to get an Xbox though since they went 3rd party in 2017.
Nah my gaming PC is enough. On top of my head the only exclusives left from Sony are Astrobot and Gran Turismo. I’m sure I miss some but that’s how dire the exclusives situation on PS5 is. Oh also Bloodborne but that’s technically a PS4 game.
Well, it’s $50 if you’re smart. Plus, $80 games have ALWAYS existed so for any real gamer, fan of a particular brand being irrelevant, this isn’t an issue.
I’d like to know how they took 8 years to make a game with no lengthy single player story mode along with the other modes..
