Nintendo has announced the second Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program. This is similar to the previous session on the Nintendo Switch, which took place in late 2024. Anyone can apply for the program after meeting its qualifications:
- Own a registered Nintendo Account within the following countries: Japan, United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil, or Mexico.
- Own an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership before July 17, 03:00 p.m. PDT
- Be at least 18 years old before July 1,7 03:00 p.m. PDT
Applicants can sign up individually or in groups of up to four. No one can speak about any information related to the program except for those who participated, including group members. Group applications don’t increase the chance for selection. Applying as a group only results in the full team participating or not.
Nintendo users in Japan will be chosen via raffle if too many Japanese players apply. Anyone else outside of Japan will participate on a first-come, first-served basis. Open applications are available from 03:00 p.m. PDT on July 18 to 07:59 a.m. PDT on July 21.

The last time they did this, people started to talk about it during the live stream websites before it gets released by Nintendo. It might happen again.
Because people are idiots. That’s why, sometimes, the fandom can’t have nice things.
People were also spoiling the twist in Bananza ahead of time.
P.S.: Another day with no comment from WordPress, only Facebook.
Exactly!
I might try for this one… if it’s for Switch users.
Excited for Nintendo’s second Switch Online Playtest! Applying solo like last year, since groups don’t boost odds. Fingers crossed for first-come selection outside Japan. Reminds me of racing into 247backgammon tournaments back in college, life’s fleeting thrills hit hardest when you snag that early slot amid the rush. At 35 now, these chances connect me to that wide-eyed gamer kid.
