Nintendo unleashes new trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, King Rauru and Princess Zelda must lead a desperate defence against an invasion that will determine the fate of the kingdom. The very survival of Hyrule and its people rests on the courage of heroes willing to stand together against Ganondorf’s legion. Among the various characters you’ll meet within the story are new faces like Calamo, a boisterous Korok wandering Hyrule in search of a place to put down roots, and the Mysterious Construct, who can transform and take to the skies.

You’ll also encounter more familiar figures during your adventure. Alongside Princess Zelda, you will get to know the legendary Sages, including Agraston, the worldly chief of the Gorons, the courageous Zora queen Qia, and Raphica, the quick-witted leader of the Rito.

To defend the kingdom, these heroes must form a united front against Ganondorf’s invasion. By having two characters work together, you can unleash powerful Sync Strikes to give yourself an edge in combat. Different character combinations will produce different kinds of Sync Strikes, such as granting characters buffs or creating constructs you can control. Trying out different pairs can lead to devastating blows to the opposition.

Rally your allies and use their signature abilities to vanquish hordes of enemies when Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment launches November 6th exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-order is available now on Nintendo eShop and My Nintendo Store.

  1. Huuuuuge mistake not including Link as a playable character. If he IS unlockable then it’s a huuuuge mistake not giving us a hint about it in this trailer.

      1. Yeah I know it doesn’t make sense storywise. I just think it’s a mistake to begin with to not create a Hyrule Warriors game with Link as a playable character in mind.

      2. Keep in mind- this is supposed to be canon to the TotK timeline, so if Link shows up, any scenario featuring him wouldn’t be considered as what actually happens.

Then again, I still have a sour taste in my mouth from when Nintendo said Age of Calamity was “the only way to see what really happened 100 years before BotW” and then pulled time travel shenanigans that rewrote history.

    1. ZeepZeep kinda nailed the response to your comment. This game takes place during the time that Zelda slipped back in time during TotK, last I checked Link didn’t slip back in time to fight Gannon in the past.
